If the decals are one-piece and manageable to peel/handle, do you need transfer tape? Are you laminating those as well? If they're die cut pieces then use your transfer tape but get some tape from your supply house that's used all the time in the sign industry. A person that I just cut for...
I agree.....let your client know what the ordinance is. If they still want to move forward tell them you'd be happy to do that for them. Have them sign a simple waiver that you won't be responsible if the City comes by wanting them removed. I look at it this way, you gave facts and they...
That's a high number to pay unless you're insuring way more than your digital print equipment.....I could maybe see if that if you were adding a couple of crane trucks and had a bunch of employees. I have a $2M umbrella policy, no workman's comp (solo outfit) and my payments are less than three...
Understand that when wearing many hats nothing is done 100%....you can't sell 100% of the time if you have to project manage your jobs....you can't manage 100% if you have to design your projects, etc. With that being said, expectations should be defined with you and your boss so there isn't...
It sounds like you've got a good picture of the current company and what is lacks based on your experience. It seems like the owner may not have an understanding or doesn't care about the sign company because he/she has the restaurant to live on. I would sit down with the ownership and in a...
Tell your prospect/client that you allow three revisions and beyond that you start charging for added design time. Ask them to come in and sit down to go over what they are really wanting. Too much interpretation can happen via emails and away to the sideways track you go....
Most rear windows have defrost wires on the inside....removal of the graphics will probably damage the window defrost lines. Mosh also said it, most windows are tinted and you probably won't get much visibility.
I'm not going to get too lengthy because there are a lot of ways to go about that. My view is to pay them what you can afford to. Salespeople (most) are driven by compensation and look for the next sale cause of the $ (afterall, gotta make a living right). Pay should be based partly on what...
My 2 cents (about what your company is giving you) is to NOT use your vehicle as a company vehicle, unless you have something in writing stipulating the use plus paybacks. You probably will find yourself spending a lot of "extra" money on fuel, oil changes and other maintenance items...
I didn't expect you to.....
Just saying, when you get the job, use the old faces and clip placements to measure out your new faces to speed the install up.
It's been a long time since I've done a flex face but for that system it looks like you will have to remove all of the panels. I would remove an existing face with the clips on, layout on the ground and measure for your new faces so you know where the folds go and clips (clips can slide once...
It sounds like he admits it's his fault on the color selection and therefore you shouldn't be obligated to come out of pocket for changes. However, what it cost the first time shouldn't be what it costs the second time unless you absolutely have to make new faces (even then it should be less...
When die-cutting gotta use the transfer tape.......go paper. S'N'S said, clear sucks. Tape away and roll outwards to avoid the tunnel'n. Also, go "Home of the Milk-Day Queen"
Are these die-cut pieces or contour cut pieces? If they're one-piece decals then do you really need the transfer tape??? If they've been laminated they'll have a little rigidity to them and could be put on by most easily.....some it just won't matter
Just gotta move on.....I wouldn't stir the pot, wouldn't do any good or bode well for your company. Perhaps an up-front question should have been, "Is anyone else looking at this project as well, if so, I'd like to make sure that we are seeing apples to apples?"
