as of a couple of days ago, I started having this issue. The black is going from printing nicely to approx 50% injection after about 20" of printing. Powerful cleaning get the print test back to 98% on black, all other color stay at 100% with beautiful print test.
Print head - all dampers -...
Update -
Took the motor apart today, take a look at the video.

What would be making that noise inside of the motor ? Do you think my cut issues have any relation to the motor problems ?
VS-540
Carriage motor has 613 hours on it.
Im getting a loud noise when printing. I dont think that the carriage is flowing freely which is creating issues with my print cut. My cuts are horrendous and stitch looking. See picture. My prints are still coming good.
question #1 - the only...
Well, after over a week of being down, I needed this fixed. I called a Tech to come out, a certified Roland service center and dealer. . Right away the tech believes the head is bad. He initially changes the damper with a new one and runs choke cleaning along with other cleanings. All of this on...
Pete,
THANK YOU!!! I greatly appreciate any advice at this point. Thank you so much! Here are pics of the head. Its hard to get good shots of the bottom print head.
Bobby from CS Supply has been amazing in taking my call and attempting to diagnose this nightmare.
I have now replaced the 5 months old cap top, the nozzle check is shown in pic attached. After approx. 40" of printing, the black is back to dropping out. I cannot believe that because of 1...
Your right, but why would the captops have anything to do with just the black since the head on this printer has all of the channels, 1 cap for all ? wouldnt I see the issues on the other channels ?
I rechecked the damper to make sure all connections were good. Everything appeared to look good. I followed that up with power clean and choke clean again. The results aren't changing still a fluctuation in which nozzles decide to fire on the black channel. I've called the dealer and everything...
Does anyone have anymore input/advice they could give me, I am spending tons of money on ink, doing these cleanings every other print ! This is a 6ft x 4ft banner i did today. During this print the black noticeably got worst at 2 separate points in the print.
I have to cancel my print, waste...
Here is what doesnt make sense for me -
Cap top - is working due to filling drain bottle when cleaning.
Head - if a clog was present, I would not have fluctuations in the nozzle check
UPDATE - SELF TECH ERROR ( ME) one of the ribbons on the print head was inverted, but in the right slot, luckily nothing got fried.
I am still where i started however with my black dropping out. I have attached the new test print after the black damper was changed.
I changed the damper, I found the boot on the bottom of the old damper had dislodged itself and possibly blocking the flow of ink.
The choke was shut off, after replacement I did power clean and choke clean. Unfortunately now I have 0 inks in any of the channels ? I have attempted to do a...
Hi.
I have attached pics of my issue. In the past 4 weeks i have had this happened a couple of weeks now. The printer will be be printing beautifully and then dropped approx 80% of K channel. The nozzle chack when operational is fairly clean, the nozzle check attached is after this drop...
