  1. Installing inside of a hair salon without getting hair on it

Your guess is as good as mine. It was a locked office. I wish this is why he was complaining.
  2. Installing inside of a hair salon without getting hair on it

Info on location is above. It's inside but outside of the chair area.
  3. Installing inside of a hair salon without getting hair on it

Then it would sounds like outside of operating hours are the only way to operate this job if that even would save it. It is a tight corridor setup (probably 4ft wide) that runs in a rectangle "ring" on the inside and outside of this ring. One one is in their own room with 3 window panes on the...
  4. Installing inside of a hair salon without getting hair on it

I completely forgot about tack cloths! Sometimes I feel like my projects managers can never bring these clients down from the clouds and actually tell them realistic expectations.
  5. Installing inside of a hair salon without getting hair on it

Does anyone have any ways of eliminating hair from ever getting on the vinyl adhesive while installing inside of a hair salon? I have done a few hair salons and for the most part no issues. Occasionally I will have hair go between the surface and the vinyl but usually no one says anything or it...
  6. Question minimum temperature for installing window perf?

I've done printed perf both wet and dry, zero differences noticed other than liquid running down the window. One wet example is less than 500ft away so its easy to monitor it. I try and avoid going below 50F (for most applications) myself but I am also in a coastal region so moisture is also fun...
  7. HP 700W / 800W

If it is 220v, 198-242v is 10%. That is the talk but I don't write the checks, just the operator.
  8. HP 700W / 800W

I'm just not used to less than 10% tolerance unless battery operated or is noted to require a special power source to be in the middle.
  9. HP 700W / 800W

AS far as I have been taught, the [power line] spec allows up to 250v and you treat it the same unless the power voltage is actually under the amount needed. I have never heard of equipment being denied for being at that range. If that is not the actual case, then I guess I have been taught...
  10. HP 700W / 800W

Mine (800w) is sitting in a box. Our power line has been rated at 241v and will not be installed as HP will not accept that rating as it is beyond 240v? Seriously? I hope you get to enjoy yours!
  11. Best 5:48 you'll spend today...

Ugh. This is a rabbit hole I didn't need to find today! I just wish I could weld and plasma cut.
  12. After a decade of Versaworks I tried Onyx....

Those quick-sets are da-bomb! Sadly now half of mine are dead as I'm now a lite vs pro, Onyx user. I may keep a handful of files in my recent job section but rarely do I intend to keep more than a potential job or a few sample prints for tests. Printer has good days but mostly bad days. I just...
  13. Rant Why does this always happen...................... ??

Sounds like back when I was at OfficeMax (CopyMax). My brother was at a different store so it made the competition even more fun! Sadly he was at a major disadvantage as I was at a production hub and were massive in scale in comparison but he won some days/weeks.
  14. Rant Why does this always happen...................... ??

People don't care. They are willing to roll over and allow whatever happens just to be given garbage on a platter like its a feast fit for kings. I feel like poo for days after eating fast food. I have found that some local places do it well. I have a famous but inexpensive and good breakfast...
  15. Window Frosting (Application)

I'm getting a panic attack just remembering about one of these two weeks ago. It had to recess into all 4 edges of the frame with a cutout in the center! AHHH!!!!! It took me forever, also had to use liquid on an air-release material (no other left in stock). Took my dear time to not crease a...
  16. Media Quality Issues Since COVID

We ditched our gloss SA Vinyl due to plasticizers on the surface of multiple brand new rolls to us. Haven't really noticed much issues on other stocks other than being OOS and having to source new materials in.
  17. What are some unique solutions to storing scrap vinyl?

I find it ends up in the trash one day or another if it isn't a large piece. Some days I just cut an extra item (spare in case something bad happens somewhere) just to feel like I didn't just throw it away for no reason. It was already destined for the trash so why not try and make it useful...
  18. The Great Canning Jar Shortage?

Haven't seen a shortage in either city I have lived in within the past couple of years but I am pretty sure they were storing them in these before plastics were around. 64oz jars works wonders for storage! Hit up your local brewery for some lye and acid to clean those jars right up! That stuff...
  19. If you forget the premask

I just carry a 4-6" wide roll of mask in my tool box along with painters tape (used on mask to lineup on the window or whatever). I've used it twice in about a years time now but it takes up very little weight and I tuck a little swifter pad, to wipe dust and crap away, inside of the tube.
  20. I just got asked how long it will take to print 15,000 ft. of magnets! :-D

A few months ago, yes, now is just a spitball and pray. Due to a bad printhead that was installed or bad ink, we have been having to slow the machine down to avoid streaking/smearing issues and just starting to slowly speed it back up. Most things are having to print at 10 pass or higher to...
