The NovaJet 500 is very old. It is no longer supported by Kodak/Encad. $500 is a good price but the parts have been discontinued. Everything below the Encad NovaJet 850 has had its parts discontinued. If someone were to offer me this printer for $500 I would take it. If it doesn't work...

We had one of these come through our R&D from China and I could not get it to work to save my life. It frustrated the hell out of me. Better luck to anyone else.

I'm familiar with Iprint. They make knockoffs of different brands. They've been around for quite a while. You will get the same print quality and similar print speed when compared to a real Encad but it isn't the most reliable piece of equipment. Don't expect any level of support from Iprint...

Of course, make sure the cartridge is in all the way. Then try turning it off and turning it back on. Don't take the cartridge in or out while it is turned off. Failing that, call your vendor and tell them to get you up and running.

Do you have the item number on the box with the new cartridge that didn't have the metal tube?

I actually work for the largest Encad/Kodak supplier in the nation. I've been tossing this over in my head and messing with the unit we have in-house but I can't figure anything. Everything I think of has already been tried. I'll get with some of the other techs and see what they think.

Sometimes the printer doesn't recognize that you've removed the waste. In that situation I tell users to delicately jiggle the waste holder thing.

Running a JV3 and a VersaCamm side by side is a good laugh. Your competition will find themselves severely outclassed especially with the six color setup. Also, though a lot of salespeople will push the JV4 or even the JV5, I always recommend the JV3. Much better machine, in my opinion...
