  1. What do I do wrong (banding?? PICTURE INSIDE)

We are having this same problem on our Mutoh Valuejet 1324. It seems to get real bad if it prints over 30 feet consistently without going through a cleaning cycle. Sometimes it's just random though. Still looking for a solution..
  2. Hows my time?

Thanks for all the feedback. I know I'm not the quickest, but improving daily. I wish we did more wraps. For a while, we would only get one every couple months, and then 2 or 3 would come in. Anything from water tankers to smart cars to 24' trailers. Our company does wraps/graphics, signs...
  3. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

Resurrecting an old thread. Average income for a "wrap specialist" in Michigan?
  4. Hows my time?

Hey all. I've been in the sign business for about 3 years now, and in the last year I have pretty much taken control over vehicle and trailer wraps in our shop. We average 2-3 a month. I feel my quality and completion time is great for my experience, but sometimes according to my co-workers, it...
  5. Hardest Vehicle Wrap

    So, how'd it go?
  6. Waterjet cut aluminum, Rustoleum Paint

Not sure on the type of aluminum. It's a sheet that's about 5' x 2 1/2'. I did body work for about 6 years, but never dealt with aluminum. Can I use the same stuff we used to spray the bare metal with before painting? Self etching primer, its a green color and you only need a thin layer...
  7. Waterjet cut aluminum, Rustoleum Paint

We're doing a sign for a local company that's going to be waterjet cut alum. We purchased a few cans of Rustoleum paint for the final coat (spray bomb), but I was wondering, will that paint work directly over the alum. or is some type of primer required? Thanks
  8. Isopropyl Alcohol

We've always used 70%. I finally found 99% available, now which is better? Is the 99% overkill and and does anyone have any problems with it evaporating too quick on the hot days? All in all, is the 99/96% worth the extra $$? This will be used for cleaning most surfaces before applying graphics...
  9. Laminator leaving Zig-Zag pattern

    Yuup. :banghead:
  10. Laminator leaving Zig-Zag pattern

Our old machine was also a daige, which is why the boss decided on it. It was def. one of the cheapest (price wise) and I have learned why. If it was my choice, I would look into a different one but, I'm just an installer so I can't make that call.
  11. Laminator leaving Zig-Zag pattern

Where is the grey foam roller? Or is it just the bottom roller? (our top and bottom rollers are both red). Is this something you'd be able to see just by looking at it, and if it is, would it be easier to take a look while changing laminate?
  12. Laminator leaving Zig-Zag pattern

Please bare with me, I'm still a "newbie" :thumb: Yes, it is a Daige. When we set the pressure, we brought the rollers down to where their just barely touching, then turned them a quarter turn tighter. I wasn't asked to find a solution, I just did it since I'm not happy with how things have...
  13. Laminator leaving Zig-Zag pattern

I'm somewhat new to the sign industry. I've been working at my current job for a little over a year and boy have I learned a lot! Our laminator is a 54" cold. The last roll we sent through had these zig-zag lines, about 1/4" thick. Those spots were also a little more faded then the rest that...
