  1. Why is my red turning yellow

or, you could simply be out of ink. That's the first thing I'd check.
  2. Overspray Problem

I agree with you artbot, I got sidetracked in the thread, since I had just got back from recovering a unit with a load of bad ink. It was stuck in my head when I posted. Since the problem had been previously isolated I agree with your assessment.
  3. Overspray Problem

most overspray problems that I have seen in the printers I work on is due to poor ink manufacturing. That being said, there's been issues with all ink manufacturers, so that's the first thing I check on site.
  4. Replaced the dampers now what? (No Cyan)

when pulling the dampers, make sure you pull straight up, don't wiggle or rock it, and don't twist it side to side, the manifold that sits on top of the head is made of plastic and can crack with little warning, if that happens, you have to replace the manifold, which means pulling the head. So...
  5. Overspray Problem

what brand of ink are you using?
  6. Eco-solvent change question

Honestly if your mutoh is printing, don't mess with it. I've heard of more ink problems with mutohs, then I have with any other printer. Just my opinion tho, I'll let some mutoh operators chime in.
  7. What Do I Do??????

check to make sure the microswitch inside the wiper station isn't gummed up with ink. If the wiper can't home, or the switch is fouled it won't register, altho that typically shows as an error on bootup ( 43 I think)
  8. What brand name of computer do you use? Just purchased T400 today

my laptop is an MSI, which is a great value for all the stuff you get. My desktop is a custom i7 975 that I built, most bang for my buck. I'm extremely pleased with both.
  9. FLAAR report on SEPIAX Ink

would it be enough to say, I've been in the industry since the very first large format printers were released, I've been a service tech for quite a while, and if someone gave me the system for free and promised me free ink for life, I'd put it aside and say "No thanks"?
  10. Photoshop

if you have flexi, you can minimize the impact that flexi has on the image by dropping the file directly into production manager. Provided your output profile is good, you should get little variation in output, but remember that it IS large format printing and variations WILL happen.
  11. Huge Issue with light Cyan. Nozzle check fail

ok, now I've run into the same problem 2x in 7 days. What type of ink are you running?
  12. FC7000 pen down???????????

sounds like the pen block assembly is going bad, contact romy here on the forums, she can have someone call you to help diagnose the problem.
  13. FLAAR report on SEPIAX Ink

Because I don't want to potentially smash anyone's ego, PM me and I'll fill you in on the horror story I have with this particular ink, and a JV3 conversion.
  14. Where can I buy an alignment scope?

I'd fully endorse Jim's scope, it may have been his total gadget mastery, but he made it look very easy, and it did a great job. Hey Jim! Hope things are going well in S. Fla! For those people needing a tech in that area, Jim is the bomb and knows his stuff!
  15. Huge Issue with light Cyan. Nozzle check fail

what kind of ink are you running? I ran into something very similar last week.
  16. Stripe issues new to printer

step 1. Turn off the printer. step 2. remove the cover to the maintenance station on the left side of the platen. step 3. Move the carriage assembly to the maintenance area on the left. step 4. With a clean lint free rag with cleaning solution on it, wipe the print screens underneath, from back...
  17. Stripe issues new to printer

For the record, if you keep showing signs of degradation in print quality, go from bi to uni-directional, then fast to slow, finally decrease to 16 pass. 16 pass unidirectional slow is the slowest print mode, but it offers the best print quality for this particular printer.
  18. Stripe issues new to printer

Personally, I would say that the striping involved is caused by nozzle deflection. those jets that are out of line are significantly displaced. The only thing I know of that will fix that are nozzle washes, and possibly manually cleaning the bottom of the printhead ( which I would never...
  19. Stripe issues new to printer

first thigns first. Drop your heat to 32-35 for both heaters. This isn't going to help the quality of the prints that much, but it will help some. Are you running OEM inks? Your magenta ink looks really squirrely, Try doing a long nozzle wash and see if it starts to come around ( the nozzle...
  20. JV3 160SP strange markers

your banding looks to be caused by a couple things. It looks like nozzle deflection and blocked jets in cyan are causing a portion of it, and from what I can see, ink starvation for the rest. It's kind of hard to see what is dropping to cause it tho. Try this, when you are printing and start to...
