  1. How do I find this arch!?

Id ask the owner to see if they have a blueprint of when the arch was built. The other option is getting ahold of the contractor that built it and see what they say. Somewhere the information is there about the angle.
  2. Rolls of semi -rigid plastic?

We use a bid of 24pt styrene for tags. Easy to cut. We typically order it in 4'x8' sheets from Regal-Peidmont or Laird Plastics here in Phoenix.
  3. What's your shop minimum?

We don't really have a minimum price, but we also don't do regular Joe walk-ins either. The presses bill in at $300/hour plus material, typically a press job is around $10K. Large format is an "extra bonus" for our clients. Keeps them from having to go to multiple places. They can get...

Thats what i was looking for, different site but appears to be the same stuff. Hopefully it holds up well.
  5. Gator Board edge Tape

The gator is 1/2" and cant cover the printed face of the piece, the edging would need to either stick to the foam or have barbs that would penetrate it.
  6. Gator Board edge Tape

Ive seen it online once before searching around. Didn't think to bookmark the site and now I have a request from a client to cover the foam edges of gator board for a more "finished" look and thought of the tape. Anyone know what Im taking about or where I could find it? Ive been searching on...
  7. Cutting Holes In Foamcore

I use a hole drill used in a bindery for drilling holes in paper. They use a special hollow bit and it works perfectly for me every time. I use it for 3/16 foam core, 3/16 gator board and 1/2 gator board. I can usually stack 2 high and still get a clean cut. I just did some signs...

  12. Printable clear vinyl

Im looking for a solvent printable clear vinyl. We have a client that wants wall graphics on clear instead of contour cut due to the complexity of the image. Anyone have any recommendations? Ive searched through the Fellers Catalog and had no luck. Everything I saw was either white or...
  13. What are your Labor Day plans?

I told my wife I was popping half a bottle of Tylenol PM Friday night and that I would see her Sunday morning. Unfortunately not going to happen as I have a crap load of homework to do. Who assigns homework on a holiday weekend....
  14. Remove eco-solvent ink from banner

Depending on how long its been on there, you may be able to get away with fairly strong alcohol. Like 90%, not the 70% from a drug store. It may get most of it off but still leave a slight discoloration.
  15. Packaging supplies

Uline is who we use, shipping is usually pretty fast for all the multifold boxes and bubble wrap we order from them.
  16. Big Mouth Grommet Press

I use a Hiker hand machine and it has never deformed a grommet on me. Ive put grommets through up to 8 layers of 13oz scrim banner material, 3 and 6mm sintra, gator board. Good machine.
  17. anyone recommend non curl banner material?

We have done quite a few retractable banners using regular 13oz gloss or matte banner material. Never had an issue. The gloss and matte banner we use has a very fine scrim so it looks good. Im actually running the prints for 6 retractables right now! If we aren't using banner material we...
  18. In the market for a new cell phone

Phones now a days are nearly identical. Most android phones all have the same dual core 1gb processor. The big difference in the phones are the screens. I would recommend spending some time in a Verizon store where they have real, activated phones to try. Make a couple calls, browse the web...

  20. Attaching Foamboard

I usually go to the hardware store and buy the brackets made for pictures. They look similar to a saw blade. I could small dots of 60 second epoxy where the nails would normally go and they are set. Never had a problem doing them this way.
