Ive been using the self healing mat from Speedpress for a couple years.
It works well as a cutting mat but being that I only use Olfas or NT cutters for cutting, it is far from self healing.
I just hate spending the $165 plus shipping for a new one every 6-12 months as they are only single...
Thanks Bill, I will definately look into it.
My other thought was maybe printing a simulated rice paper pattern on etched glass vinyl for the background instead of only printing the design.
Is there an eco-solvent printable material that is similar to rice paper?
We have a client wanting to closely duplicate a Shoji screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have had our Mutoh Value-jet for just shy of 3 years now. No real issues other than a bad machine install/training in the beginning that thankfully I didn't have to deal with.
Only issue I have with Mutoh now is the lack of white or metallic. That would be icing on the cake for sure.
We had a similar issue with our 1608 last year. one of the valves went bad and caused the ink line to collapse and wouldnt release.
They had to replace the valve and the lines from the valve to the head.
Thought I'd finally post a hello thread.
Been on here for a little while doing a bunch of reading.
I run the wide format division of a print shop here in Phoenix, AZ.
We are a pretty decent sized offset and digital printer with a matching in-house bindery.
We got our Mutoh nearly 3 years...
