Running an HP L25500 right? If so, the above doesn't quite apply due to the difference in inks. There should be no stickiness and turning down the heat may cause ore problems curing the ink. DO let the first side cool off properly though.

per canned profiles in Wasatch, but the printer is the same.... and I've only seen HIGH black black black ink coverage come off oily using these settings.
I haven't messed with static cling on it yet. I've been a bit reluctant too. You may go somewhere between my and your heat...

Hmmm.... no new vinyl brands? The vinyl does sit flush to the platen: No waviness in the vinyl?
I'm not a user of that brand, but is the blade spring loaded?
I typically size anything to 5" x 3" (ish) RGB at 300dpi for a proof. That keeps the size down to email friendly proportions. Then I don't have to wait for the rendering, which I do agree is very slow.
Otherwise, I didn't see anything yet to allow that.
...and if you don't like replacing heads on a jv5 because of the HS inks, switch them to ES3 eco-solvents.
1-1 acetone - iso flush does a good job of cleaning the HS ink funk out of them in my experience.

Once its gotten greasy fingerprints on it it can go in vertical storage. I won't use it.
