  1. SP300 profiles for Oracal 3551

Giraffe, A take-up reel may be a better option than a media basket. If recently printed surfaces touch each other you run the risk of ruining your prints. Careful!!
  2. Issue with Roland VP-540 and 3M 180C Controltac

The Roland ESM-PGCT is repackaged IJ180C - this is stated in Roland's literature - so that profile should work fine. I think 72dpi is too low but that shouldn't effect banding. As Wooley says, only use the outside rollers to print, print at High Quality, and put the print heater at 112°F and...
  3. VersaWorks question

The VP and SP utilize the same VersaWorks software. In order to take advantage of all the upgrades, which should be set to run automatically, the computer that has VersaWorks should be connected to a high-speed Internet connection. I believe the Enhanced Productivity Tools are the Color...

  7. Plastic material holders

The original "Mickey Mouse Ears" have a tendency to work their way out of some media brands. This can be somewhat alleviated by wrapping a couple of turns of transfer tape on the insert so it will fit more tightly on problem rolls. Another alternative is to buy the "new improved" flanges that...

rick4310, Ike is the man! I've never dealt with a vendor who is more willing to bend over backwards to help owners and you have confirmed that fact. ChicagoGraphics. Obviously, there are many who disagree with you, including me, who find the Daige does everything its supposed to do. We have...
  9. are you solvent printing with an FJ or a CJ?

I stand corrected. I love this Forum - it's such a great source of knowledge. Darlak, I guess all your sacrificing is speed, but for that cost, your doing very well.
  10. are you solvent printing with an FJ or a CJ?

Converting an FJ or CJ to solvent is like trying to make a '99 Camry into a Hybrid. Yes, Camrys can be Hybrids but only 2007 and 2008s. Yes, Rolands can print solvent ink, but only SC-500s and newer. I think to convert an FJ/CJ to solvent is throwing good money away that could be better used...
  11. red hue on images

Are the files RGB? Another possibility is that you have applied a profile twice. Magenta cast is a typical result of applying a profile in one program, say Photoshop, AND in the RIP. Just a couple of long shots.

  13. SP540V to SC545EX comparison

SC545s are no longer available, so if you are looking at new printers, the XC-540 PRO III is the latest top-of-the-line printer/cutter. The XC is about 4-5 times faster than the SP-540V and 3 times faster than the latest 54" VersaCAMM, which is the VP-540.
