  3. Font id

The thing is, more than likely when someone tells you what the font is, they used an online tool to search for it. I answer a lot of people's font questions that way. It is not that sign people just know fonts better. Though some do. There are common fonts most of us can recognize, but those...

And it wasn't printed. Letraset most likely. No pixels necessary. Endless magnification possible.
  5. Need Help Apply transfer tape to vinyl then cutting with Graphtec

Cut the rectangle of the sign blank along with the letters. When you weed the vinyl, do not remove all the excess material between the cuts. Get a Weber Tape Tool so you can use application tape that's the size of the whole roll of vinyl. After applying the tape, cut the decals apart at the...

It may depend on your printer's capabilities. But it also requires a good profile. The biggest threat to fine detail is overinking.

  9. Contour around text in CorelDraw 2019

Corel Draw hasn't had any trouble making contours and I've used it since about version 7. What can happen is poorly formed objects that have badly made corners or overlapping vectors, etc. can give weird results. Any way, to make what you are wanting, you make an outside contour the width of...

The picture of Spam was not making fun of anyone's business. Just an observation on what the forum looked like this morning. I know how stuff like this happens and how you can deal with it. Rather than getting butt-hurt about it, I thought it would be funny to post a picture of Spam. As I said...

  17. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

If we are talking about washing a car with a pressure washer and the paint is coming off, it means you are doing it wrong. Too much pressure, wrong nozzle, wrong angle, too close to the finish, or hitting edges of chipped or damaged paint. My point is, you CAN power wash vehicles, even if they...
  18. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

Not the dozers and things we have to deal with. Stuff is soft, chalks, comes off easily. I've never had a pickup or car do that unless it's one with all the clearcoat gone and 20 years old.
  19. Boat wrap

Well, your experience is much different from mine. I've used Avery vinyls the whole time I've been working in the industry (over 30 years) and never had their vinyl, HP or intermediate, just fall off. I don't do color wrapping material much but when I have used it, it feels thick to me.
  20. Boat wrap

It's not Avery vs. 3M. It's permanent cast sign vinyl vs. removable cast vinyl (ij180). Or vs. 7 mil wrap (removable) vinyl.
