aluminum
for those looking for aluminum extrusions, the pricing I got back from one company was
$2760/1000KG for anodized extrusions =$2.76/kg = $1.25/lb before duty and freight fees.
$2460/1000KG for mill finish extrusions
by the time one pays the 50% duty/tax it works out to $2/lb which...
So I found an aluminum supplier!!!
only issue is US government has a anti dumping tax of 7.37% PLUS 33.18% PLUS regular 5.7%
basically close to 50'% by the time you pay all fees.
this ONLY applies to 1, 3, 5, 6000 series aluminum extrusions.
You can import 2000 or 7000 aerospace grade stuff no...
Just another baseless scare tactic. all my products are used indoors anyways. I dont' have to worry about stuff fading out in the sun and weather, falling off the front of a store, etc.
Plastic is one of the most durable and hard to decompose products out there. that is why it's clogging up...
come on, get real.,
LOL, what kind "rubbish" could possibly mess up the router bit more than the actual aluminum does? comeon this is just "trumping" not facts. plastic isn't going to dull a carbide router bit and even if it does. I get my carbide router bits from china too they are a few dollars.
Looking for chinese aluminum
My next goal is to find good chineese aluminum supplier. A 20 ft container could last me a year not sure if discount on aluminum will be that great its already pretty cheap!
Interesting you are the only person admitting it? Dont see the reason to keep a secret
I would love to see th wood pieces but maybe that is a secret too?
no did not need to order a whole container full because I dont' have that much money! lol. my order was 2 cubic meters and will cost about $800 to import into the usa. I will save about $6700 vs usa prices. plan to place another order in about six months...
This is not a buy usa thread don't respond if that is your position
I knew this was going to turn into a buy USA hijack.
Already placed my china order. If others want to save $10,000 a year on plastic then you can pm me and I'll tell you how easy it is.
I am just not surprised this topic has...
I actually have called several usa plastic manufacturers and ask them if they would sell to me directly and their answer is always no you have to buy through distributor which I would understand if I was only buying a couple sheets at a time but I always asked for a whole pallet to make it worth...
For example:
1/16" white polycarbonate sheet $25 china vs $50 Usa
5mm thick one way acrylic mirror $140 china vs $410 usa
anyone importing directly from china? Obviously only economical for larger orders of at least a few thousand dollars since freight fees are around $800
would easily save me...

I have a kiosk we manufacturer and it uses a 24x48" piece of 1/4" thick one way mirror acrylic. The stuff is expensive and the thin film of aluminum that creates the transparent mirror scratches easily.
can anyone recommend a good overlaminate film that will protect it from people touching it...
answering my own question again.
well I got some 2mm and 3.175mm diameter bits off aliexpress. the 2mm diameter ones would work for around 10 feet of cutting before they tended to break. I might have been pushing it too hard. It might have also been due to styrofoam melting and globbing on to...
well i found no difference at all visually between the expensive ge and the no name tetra modules, my advice is to save your money and get the cheaper ones and just test them in your shop for a few weeks before using on a job.
in fact I found a totally new led strip light called S SHAPE which...
anyways, back on topic! how thick of 6061 aluminum sheet do you think this kind of router can cut through? 1/8" is about as thick as I would use most of the time. I have not used a cnc on aluminum what are some recommended router bits for this?
I currently use a 1/4" brass bushing with a 1/8"...
