I checked with a friend of mine who's an HP dealer and he confirmed that HP does not support the CP series line with any parts at all. As you've already mentioned, your best bet may be to find a used one and keep it for parts. I recently saw one on Craigslist for $250 that "needed a fuse".

I asked a Graphtec dealer and he said they are identical except the mk2 is supposed to track long jobs better. He didn't believe it though - he said the old ones track just fine. I've never had any issues with my FC7000-160 except operator error.

I've seen a couple of these in action and the one complaint I've heard from the owners is that Canon does not offer a media basket - the prints just drop to the floor. This comes as a huge surprise/disappointment. Do you know if Canon has made a media basket available?

I've had a couple requests for these banners. They go by different names but they are the ones that are 6-16 ft. tall, with a bend at the top. I have a source for the hardware but I'm trying to figure out how to design/print/finish the banner itself. Can anyone explain how to make one? Thanks

It was easier than expected. It was strapped down really well with ratcheting tie downs in my truck and then it took four guys to lift it off and get it in the shop. I had to drive a couple hundred miles but the price was right.

I completely understand that point but I would strongly suggest looking at larger sizes. Not only will it allow you to grow into new markets but you won't outgrow your equipment as fast. I hate telling customers/prospects "Sorry, we can't do that. Our printer only goes up to X size".
