I just popped the ink cartridge out and there's a good bit of ink in it like what I've found before.

Finally hit 0% on the ink. I have to say that this HP uses considerably less ink than my old Encad/Kodak. I couldn't help cutting the old tank open to see what was left and there was some ink left in there. I didn't measure it but there was more than I though.

Sometime if the media info is smudged on a roll that i preciously had in the printer my dj 5500 won't recognize the length left info so the printer asks me to enter it. Can't help u with flexi but u might want to try looking on eBay for an older version of onyx. I'm using 6.5 which is long been replaced but, with a 5500, it will work the same with the exception of maybe a PDF issue. I print eps file and never have a prob.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was doing. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong that was keeping the media from feeding back. It will feed forward as much as I like and feed back but only to the initial point. Thanks again.

I'm definitely not trying to print backwards just feed the media back. This is something that I've done on the encads with no problems. Just trying to get the paper back to its starting position.
