  1. Carnage on the highway, tractor trailer overturns - Not for the faint of heart!

Although the dildo-spill happened in the OKC metro that doesn't necessarily mean Oklahoma was the truck's final destination. OKC is a major crossroads point of the Interstate Highway System. Besides, Oklahoma is known for being the land where men are men and sheep are afraid.
  2. Carnage on the highway, tractor trailer overturns - Not for the faint of heart!

One reason there is a shortage of truck drivers: it's a $#!T-quality job. It's hard enough for a trucker to make a decent living as an owner-operator. It can be a lot worse as a driver working for a company driving their trucks. The employee turnover rate is very high. So many would-be drivers...
  3. Carnage on the highway, tractor trailer overturns - Not for the faint of heart!

"Of course it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article: a dildo, never: your dildo."
  4. News Serif Affinity "Sale"

Affinity Designer has limited support for Adobe Illustrator files. From my own personal experience the results of opening AI files in Affinity Designer is a bit hit or miss. The AI files have to be saved with PDF compatibility intact. Certain "live" Illustrator-specific effects will not be...
  5. News Serif Affinity "Sale"

If you have an iPad I do recommend getting BOTH the desktop computer version of Affinity Designer and the iPad version. There are handy drawing/sketching things you can do with the iPad version (in conjunction with the add-on Apple Pencil). The same .afdesign files can be traded from the iPad...
  6. News Serif Affinity "Sale"

Affinity's applications (Designer, Photo and Publisher) are primarily geared for the personal computer. They run on Windows and OSX. Affinity Designer and Photo also have iPad versions. Serif is working on a iPad version of Publisher.
  7. Font ID Request - Sort of Gotham but not

Nexa is a little closer of a match than Gotham. I have the Nexa and Nexa Slab families. The ends of the "S" in Nexa open up more horizontal than the sample image. The "S" in Montserrat is even more horizontally opened.
  8. Font ID Request - Sort of Gotham but not

Sorry for the small size of the attached sample image. I cropped it out of a customer provided PNG image. MyFonts' What the Font filter isn't providing any accurate matches. The lettering reminds me of Gotham, but the curves in the "S" are somewhat more squared.
  9. Opinions on backlit signs with printers that print white

Digital prints from printers that can print layers of white and color definitely look a lot better when back-lit than the output from printers that can't print white. They don't wash out anywhere near as bad. The color saturation still isn't quite as deep as cut translucent vinyl though. Some...
  10. Corel Corp is re-branding as "Alludo"

Vector Capital owned Corel for roughly 18 years, from 2003 to 2019.
  11. panel size

I remember Sam's Club selling those things for around $300 each. This is more than 10 years ago. LED variable message displays can look great and be very effective. The problem is too many customers buy units that are too small and/or too low in resolution to be effective. Plus too many don't...
  12. FONT ID x3

The sample in the "block.pdf" file looks like a modified version of ITC Machine. The "brother.pdf" sample looks like an old "analog" headstone typeface, not something commonly used in digital form. Poppl-Pontifex looks a little similar to it, but is not a match. The "robert.pdf" sample also...
  13. Font ID

The letter spacing in that sample image is just terrible.
  14. Yikes...................................... anybody know it ??

Antonio and Anton are available at Google Fonts. There's a OTF Variable version of it there as well. Big Shoulders looks a lot like Antonio, plus it has some interesting inline and stencil versions. The Google Fonts site is actually getting to be really pretty good. It's just too bad a bunch of...
  15. Corel Corp is re-branding as "Alludo"

Yes, KKR (as I mentioned earlier). Corel was owned by Vector Capital (another private equity firm) since the early 2000's. This was not long after Corel's founder, Michael Cowpland was accused of insider trading and left the company. Vector Capital sold Corel to KKR in 2019.
  16. Corel Corp is re-branding as "Alludo"

Story Link: Corel Rebrands as Alludo Apparently product names, such as CorelDRAW or WinZIP will remain the same. But I get the feeling this act is a bit like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Maybe the cost of this rebranding exercise will give the bosses at KKR and Corel, or Alludo...
  17. Script Font ID Request

The typeface used in the attached example of client-provided artwork, looks familiar but I can't find anything that matches. I need to re-create the artwork since whoever made the original design apparently did so in Photoshop. This is for a sponsor sign containing 13 or so other businesses...
  18. Font ID Needed for Western Wood Type Lettering

I didn't think it was a commercial font file. Oh well, $10 is pretty inexpensive.
  19. Font ID Needed for Western Wood Type Lettering

Any ideas on the attached sample image? I looked through all the "western" fonts on DaFont and a couple other freebie sites. Either I accidentally scrolled past it or can't find it.
  20. Illustrator Performance

Since when is a new version of a graphics application "faster" than a previous one? If anything the going rule is newer versions of graphics applications will require ever more powerful computer system hardware requirements.
