  1. Future sign maker..

Very cute! I am enjoying watching my daughter get into art as well. Impressed a little more every day! She's heading into 1st grade.
  2. shipping issues

Covid might have done us a favor in realizing how ripe for disruption the supply chain really was/is. Hopefully we are learning a bit from it and bolstering our ability to get what we need as a country. At the end of the day though, fear mongering about supply chain collapse due to bad actors...
  3. Shirt guy turning in to sign and wrap guy too

Sounds like you could corner the market. How many people live within 25 miles of you? Are you the only graphics shop? Welcome to the forum!
  4. Hello and wassup!

    Welcome!
  5. People asking for logos...I'm getting irritated

I agree with this. Sending artwork to another shop directly doesn't make sense to me. Have the customer reach back out to you directly. When they do, ask if there is anything you can help with. Might win them back at this point. Taking this kind of stuff personally just fills your head with...
  6. Looking for reliable wholesale banner printing service

Thanks for the referrals! While we do our fiar share of banners, our primary focus is yard signs and stickers. Keep us in mind for those products especially.
  7. Do you have job descriptions?

Very cool! Now the trick is to keep her busy enough that she can keep coming back to help, rather than getting another job somewhere!
  8. Do you have job descriptions?

Haha. No such thing as a current problem employee. There are opportunities for growth, or people that need to be let go. Anything in the middle is a problem with the leadership, not the employee. Just my opinion anyway.
  9. Do you have job descriptions?

Happy independence day! Glad you guys took the time to read these. I'm guessing none of you have job description in writing? How's that working for you? Worked well for us us for a while, but it catches up if you keep growing as a company.

  12. Do you have job descriptions?

Haha! Yeah, we mostly just use a crystal ball and some tarot cards... That and a few spreadsheets, constant communication with our vendors, accounting software, current jobs in the pipeline...
  13. Do you have job descriptions?

At FireSprint, we have really focused the last year on getting more information down in writing. This really helps our whole team communicate better. Here's a quick blog post I wrote about it: https://firesprint.com/blog/index.php/2022/07/01/sign-shop-job-descriptions-how-to-get-started/ Happy...
  14. New Hire Contract

Retro Graphics We have written job descriptions for anyone we hire, move, or promote. This is something we go through with everyone to make sure all parts of it are clear and if they have any questions. We don't use the term contract, but it is an agreement. In terms of an NDA or non-compete...
  15. Customer Instructions - DIY Vinyl install.

Bob's always good for some constructive criticism.:roflmao:
  16. Customer Instructions - DIY Vinyl install.

I would say that prepping the surface is something your instructions should have more clarity on. If they wrinkle to vinyl, or tear it, it's not hard to understand that was their fault. But if they apply it smooth, and it falls off a few days later, or starts to peel, you'll have a harder time...
  17. Help! Vinyl won't stick to a painted wall!

I have seen this thread over and over again, and while I have seen many answers, I feel like 3M has created a definitive guide (Bulletin 5-37) and a accompanying video to help answer the question Will it stick/Why doesn't it stick. I wrote a blog post to bring most of the information into one...
  18. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

I'll make a video, but basically you need 3 point registration ideally, and more importantly you need to register to the same 2 edges. This means setting stops on the opposite side of you bed and using those. Adjust the location in you rip/printer and you're off! Or we can do these for you...

  20. How many is too many...emails

I expected to see a bunch of rants on this thread, but there are genuinely some good ideas here. You're all speaking from a position of a business owner or production manager though. You must be able to delegate your time correctly.
