  3. Oracle 651 and Outdoor Backlit Sign

SMH!! Why in the world would you stake your reputation/business on “less expensive”! Not to mention 651 is NOT a translucent vinyl. Do a cost comparison of the “less expensive” option vs. the correct option. You will find the cost to be less than you think. Educate your client! You could...
  4. Add another Colex or will one Zund do what the two Colex

I went with Esko over Zund
  5. What goes on first PPF or Vinyl wrap?

Not 100% sure but have done some PPF and the process of doing that. I’d say PPF then wrap. PPF goes on wet and is a thick material and harder to work with compared to wrap vinyls. Just make sure you carry your wrap around your edges.
  6. Client refusing payment

The biggest thing to me here is the WHY aren’t they paying. Do you have a paper or email trail of proofs/approval/etc?
  7. Retractable banner stands with velcro leader

There are different ones out there that allow the graphics to be changed out easily. These utilize a snap bar at the top and bottom. For those that bring us the taped on leader type…..we get whole new ones for them. By the time you mess around taking them apart, clean adhesive, print the...
  8. Future sign maker..

    nice!
  9. Powerpoint files... Can we use them?..Is there a way to use them?

Excellent. We also tell our clients that we have to do this and many times the proper files “magically” appear!
  10. HP Latex 570 Error 19.12:10 - Help

Spend the money and have a tech come out. Well worth it in my opinion. I had my 570 serviced a few times. 100% worth it. Tech there the day after part(s) arrived. A day or two for part(s) to get to us. We can still work and make money while the tech does his job……
  11. Powerpoint files... Can we use them?..Is there a way to use them?

Hope you get paid for your time. Many give this away. Minutes > hours > days. It all adds up!
  12. Perforated Vinyl

    No. Probably too late
  13. People asking for logos...I'm getting irritated

You said the client paid for the artwork. Was that charge for the design of their logo or design as part of their project? Unless you specifically charged them for logo creation and they paid you for that service, you own that logo not them. Once they pay you for that it is 100% theirs...
  14. cloud -ish print on foamboard

I’d check your head height if this is the same file used for the other processes. At first glance it looks like a poorly edited image.
  15. Rush Fees

Simple answer for me. Yes! We have our projects scheduled and when someone needs a “rush” we now have to interrupt our work flow. I love the ones that are a “rush”, you charge the fee and they still don’t pick it up for a week! ‍♂️
  16. Overlaminate attracting dirt and grime

Have you had this problem in the past? If not, check your environment…
  17. calculating press time cost

Check the specs of your machine. Each print mode prints xx sq.ft. per hour. From there you should be able to figure out your time and costs .
  18. Install sign off or approval processes?

100% agree here. 1. Looks very armature. Why did you not do this as cut vinyl an apply that? Aren’t you the professional? If this was my client I’d guide them in the correct direction. 2. Fire the sub. If they can’t do this they should not be in the business. Period.
  19. Pricing cut vinyl

Not to offend but this is almost like hearing “I need a sign” from a client. There are things that we take into consideration for projects like this. Material/vinyl used (we only use cast, period) Complexity (ie production time. The more complex the more time to cut and weed) Travel time...
