  2. Advice

There should have been a few inches of bleed at the top of the graphics to compensate for any variations in the drop ceiling. Same with the floor, although with the wall base, you were probably fine and didn't have any issues. Unfortunately, the customer has the right to expect a wrinkle-free...
  3. Question Pad/Stud Mounts on Acrylic Letters

Drilling and tapping is the most common method used (almost always). Transporting a bunch of letters with pads/studs sticking out of them isn't ideal. Plus, studs threaded directly into the letters would be more secure than studs threaded into pads.
  4. Question Pad/Stud Mounts on Acrylic Letters

You have 7 drawn, not 6, but I would go with 7, like you have shown. I don't understand your question about the top ones having pins into the brick & expansion......all 7 should have studs. 1/4" acrylic would be a bit thin for letters this size. All of that being said, any particular reason...
  5. Longest 1 piece "pan formed" face

Doubt it, Faces is one of the largest and they max out at 8'x20'.
  6. Looking for standoffs

You can get security bits from Harbor Freight, Amazon, etc. Any of the basic kits should include the bits for those.
  7. Looking for standoffs

They're not standoffs, they're snake eye security screws....
  8. Treated Lumber Prices Collapse

Ugh, that sucks. I bought three, so I'd have a couple of spares, in case that happened. That being said, I've put the first one through quite a bit and it's held up fine. What drill are you using?
  9. To all Newbies Part 2

Other than responding to an 11 year old post?
  10. Idea for a new thread......................................................................

I think that would be an interesting and enjoyable read. Computers have definitely eliminated the need for talent in a lot of areas in the sign industry. Neon bending, hand lettering, etc. are all becoming a lost art. Are there enough veterans here to contribute? I would think you're talking...

That's about the way it works. Yeah, I will, but the landing sucks.

Texas_Signmaker you might want to pick up one of the new DeWalt fans. These are 650cfm vs 500cfm. Doesn't sound like much, but noticeably better air flow.
  15. Disposal of old panels

One man's junk..... Throw it on Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. Someone would probably love to have it.
  16. Hey Moze....

I think by the time I saw it, it sounded like you were set on the Harbor Freight or Bosch? I've owned about every major brand. Bottom line is if you're buying cordless and already have a set of cordless tools by any of the major brands - you really can't go wrong. What did you wind up getting?
  17. Hey Moze....

My wife takes mine all the time....part of the reason I have three lol. The top one (DCH733) has a little more than twice the power of the one below it (DCH481).
  18. Hey Moze....

Just recently picked up the 20v Atomic SDS (bottom) and the 60v 1-7/8" SDS (top) . No masonry is safe......
  19. Hey Moze....

Yep, I actually have three of them. If I'm working out of the back of the van (parking garage installs, etc), I hang them all off the ceiling pointed out the back of the van. They help substantially.
  20. Decorative Film & UV Tint install issues

Most of those aren't "bubbles", they're tunnels and they should have been squeegeed out at the time of install. And no, most of that won't dissipate. The installer needs to see if those can still be squeegeed out. If it can't be fixed to the customers satisfaction, yes, it should be redone.
