Just saw this on the web. All these years, I've been using my desktop scanner and Adobe Acrobat.
If you haven't learned the hard way yet...thermally printed receipts DON'T last...expecially after two or three weeks in a wallet....or long term in...
FastTrac Growth Venture: Week 3
“Hi, my name is Jim and I don’t know how to read a balance sheet, cash flow statement or a profit & loss statement…”.
I’m running the risk of sounding like I’ve joined one of those anonymous self-help groups, but I really don’t know how to do any of those...
We have a farily good population of seasonal lake dwellers this time of the year and I'm about to shake the bushes with this idea. Image is deep cut sandblasted into tumbled bluestone.
Just tell your friends to type in your coordinates and then bring a full cooler to the party.

I went to Mickey D's today, and we now have one of those double lane drive thrus. Perhaps so they can shove twice as many cars through...and make us wait twice as long.
Anyway, I asked the gal behind the cash register how they keep track of who gets what since there's only one register to...
FastTrac Growth Venture: Week Two
This week’s class was informative and fun, to say the least. We spent the majority of the six hour period doing research on our competitors and studying the demographics of our present and future customers.
Our two primary resources were:
Business...
After thirteen years of keeping bees, I ran my last honeybee out on a rail last year after my daughter was stung and had a bad reaction.
I missed them so much that I put an empty hive at the back of my property and hoped to catch a swarm from the forrest this spring. It looks like...
I just got off the phone with Ross at Clean Cut Blades and he said that their web site is back online now.
Forum members can get a $4.00 discount off a 5-pack by typing "forum" in the discount / coupon box when they check out.
He said business was booming and that he was getting ready...
I'm looking to sell my business in twenty or so years. Besides the obvious fact that it may not even resemble what it does today, how should I begin preparing?
In addition to good customer relationships, service and product offerings, I keep good financial records and am in the process of...
I have a Canon laser printer for the office and it's telling me that it's hungry for more toner. I don't really feel like I'm ready to pony up $100 just yet.
Where do you get your OEM (preferred) laser toner? Any suggestions for reputable aftermarket toner is also welcomed.
I'm...
A few weeks ago, I had mentioned the Kaufmann Foundation's FastTrac Growth Venture classes that were being offered in our community. Basically, Growth Venture is designed for current business owners who desire a better understanding of their business in preparation for future growth or...
Just got an email for the NBM show in Indy and this was one of the vendors who will be attending.
Anybody see one of these yet?

I bought my Gerber GS15 used a few years ago and it came with this metal bracket on one side. What the heck is it? The top loop has about a 1/2" inside diameter.
Perhaps something that a "security" cable might have been run through????

I just started having a runtime (C++) error with SignLab when importing an .AI or .DXF file. The error comes up and instantly terminates the open window.
I've been using SignLab for five years, and this is the first time it's ever happened.
Any suggestions?

Since diabetes runs in the family, I've been closely watching my A1C blood sugar level. So far, so good.
For those of you who don't know what it is, the A1C is a three-month "snapshot" of your blood sugar levels.
Perhaps you didn't know that you can get the test kits at a local drug...
Only a debit card and absolutely zero friggen credit cards.
After four very long and very rough years, we finally laid the credit card bill to rest today. The card was cut up three years prior.
I can't bear to look at the statements and calculate the interest, but I can say with...
Has anyone participated in the Kauffman Foundation FastTrac Growth Venture trainig?
Essentially, it's for businesses that are looking toward moving to the next level of growth. I have an opportunity to attend. Typically it's an $850 course, but the Michigan Small Business & Technology...
It never ceases to amaze me how rogue wannabe superstars can out do even the most savvy of marketing gurus. This pitch man for Skittles is a hoot...plus he has a bunch of other funny videos.
I think You Tube has turned the entire media industry upside down...
