Whatever happened to simple quotes over the phone for "off-the-shelf" office supplies?
To make a long story short, the local quick print added an inkjet franchise a few months ago.
Our local office supply store recently bought out a long-established, well respected print shop.
And I get...
Nothing too wild here in southern Michigan...just a few good friends over for dinner and modest festivities.
Since it's going to be a four-day weekend, I stocked up on the darkest coffee beans I could find, and also picked up the new biography of Steve Jobs (audio book CD). I'll be doing a...
I bought the E-Myth Revisited (http://www.emyth.com) on audio book five years ago and it's been a wonderful resource. I listened to it a few times several years ago and then pulled it out again this evening. All I can say is wow. It's amazing how much more sense it makes now that my business...
The topic of "midlife crisis" came up on another thread, and I had to share what I found on wikipedia.
Is it really THAT bad out there?
From wikipedia:
As my work slows down for the winter season, I typically take a job in a local factory to keep the bills paid until things pick up in the spring. My factory job is a skilled position. It pays well, and is one in which I was trained via an apprenticeship over twenty-five years ago (tool and...
I absolutely love this kind of story....two young bucks with a wild dream and relentless energy to match.
Here's their story: http://www.joulies.com/pages/our-story
Anybody have a set yet? If so, do they really work?

Does anybody know if Illustrator CS6 will feature the scrubby zoom that is presently available with Photoshop CS5? That's one sweet tool.
Careful if you download the demo to try it....you'll end up wanting to upgrade. I most likely will.
Update: Since the demo download is CS5...
I needed something quick for a trade show this weekend. It goes behind a 4' x 4' floor display and it will eventually hang in our booth at a craft mall. I've done a few things with Photoshop for our brochure, but this one was a little more fun...even throughout the initial learning curve of...
I absolutely love this one...especially the two little guys at the end:

And be sure not to miss the original uncut verison of the little guys....a classic, for sure.

Since we do mostly monument and stone engraving, we've never had the real urgency to use Photoshop other than to do a quick brochure. But now that lasers are widely used to etch photos on granite, we'd like to start learning Photoshop from gound zero...the correct way.
We started with...
I'm not a drummer, but I find the manufacturing processes of most things absolutely facinating.
Check this one out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79PVQixZjak
How would like the job of the quality control guy? He was probably the kid who took out all the pots and pans and went at them...
As stated on an earlier post, we're doing a business expo on Saturday and wanted something with a little pizazz to set our business cards on that would leave a leave a lasting impression with potential clients.
Granite tile measures 12" x 12", and the image is sandblast etched into the...
After hearing all of the horror stories about upgrading to a new computer and fighting software and equipment incompatability, I can say that I've joined the ranks of Windows 7 users and have lived to tell about it. No hiccups across the board, whatsoever.
I ordered a Dell Precision 1600...
On my old Gateway computer, the dongle never used to show up as a accessible drive. However it shows up as an active drive on newer computers I've used, and sometimes it gets de-activated when I accidently release the wrong drive when removing memory sticks.
I also find that SignLab...
