  1. FC9000 - Cut's 0.625" off

So I had printed some sheets with Graphtec cut marks off my UV machine. Loaded them into the graphtech and sent the cuts from CM5. Scanned marks no problem but when it makes the first cut it's always 0.625" off. If I cancel the job and start it over it cuts in the correct place. I cannot seem to...
  2. UCJV330 - Dropped black Head 1

Definitely something weird going on. Got all these 3 yesterday. Some of my media profiles showed up again o the machine. I'm not liking all these random message, makes me feel like they are going to be throwing lot of parts at this. How do I get into the service mode? Do you have a service...
  3. UCJV330 - Dropped black Head 1

Unforteulatly I've developed more problems. Came in the morning and all my media names were reset. Went to do a test print and it immeedialy shut down. Turned it back on and tried another test print and gave me an error. "Error 707 Head Heater Break 1_" Ugh looks like I've got gremlins in the...
  4. UCJV330 - Dropped black Head 1

Been having this intermittent issue every couple of months. I'll start a print and within an inch of so into the print the black from head 1 drops out completely. I've tried a normal cleaning, hard cleaning and 2 x nozzle wash and it still won't print anything. Any suggestions?
  5. Question Is Mimaki UJV 100-160plus worth it comparing it to UCJV330?

What are you trying to print? I'm assuming you've done the drop position correction for the media and DPI your printing at. I actually get decent prints from 600x1200. I do a lot of smaller type (5-6pt) though so I generally stick to 1200x1200.
  6. Question Is Mimaki UJV 100-160plus worth it comparing it to UCJV330?

I had to laugh at this. I've got a 330 and it seems like just before I got and start something it's going to circulate.
  7. Canva files and editing

I'm on a trial of it and editing seems to be the same but with access to more resources, fonts, graphics, etc. Not sure if the free one has the same export options.
  8. Canva files and editing

I feel dumb for forgetting that I can do that in acrobat. I don't use acrobat print production very often and I was so used to using ESKO plug-ins when I worked in offset. Thanks for refreshing my memory on that.
  9. Canva files and editing

Yeah I've never used it at all until this came though so I'm going to have to poke around it a bit. The hollow is for a text with no fill and just an outline. Not outlined text as I'm thinking of it.
  10. Canva files and editing

So I acquired a new customer that wants to work with me. However all of their designs are made in Canva. Right away opening a PDF in illustrator the biggest issue I see is font's don't get embedded. However if you save the the file from Canva as a SVG it will outline the fonts so I can at least...
  11. BUMPER STICKER MATERIAL

I have had stickers on telephone poles here in Maine stuck on there for 3 years without any problems using Substance 2755/3150. Substance is my go to and it's a great company. They are making matte again in 3755/3750 again after I had talked to them about it and made me 10 rolls to use while...
  12. adhesive paper not vinyl

IMO, go with vinyl unless they specifically asked for paper. I've used the Roland paper and it's ok but there aren't many adhesive backed paper options out there and most are for poster type graphics and pretty thick.
  13. Connecting Graphtect cutter

Should be able to. Have you set a static IP address on the machine?
  14. using ChatGPT for sign design and logos

I don't mind using it as a tool, but certainly not for logos, maybe a logo idea to start from. I use if on occasion for background images for label artwork, but it's never going to replace the feeling of a piece of artwork done by a human.
  15. UCJV330 + RL7 - Space between jobs

This is why I've just stuck to sheets. Print one and roll the leading edge back to the platen and start the next print.
  16. Print Issues Epson S80600 Furry Edges

What resolution are you printing at? Bi-direction or Uni? You can always try to a manual head alignment to see how those look.
  17. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

Right now I use Substance 3755 Matte AR. I think I'll get a roll of non-ar to try. Also what was weird is that a Mimaki rep told me when buying this never to use more than 50% clear ink. Then a few weeks ago I was told to try it at 90-100%. lol Those photos I posted were done with a pass of 100%...
  18. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

I'll have to really experiment with settings or switch to a non-air release to help prevent it. My machine is still under warranty and don't want to void that so switching inks isn't in my book just yet. It would be fine it it did it evenly to everything, but when only certain areas do it it...
  19. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this issue with UV prints and clear gloss/matte ink. It doesn't happen consistently on every single piece but happens to at least some pieces on every clear job I run. The initial prints come out looking fine but within a couple of days I notice this...
  20. CG-AR - Die cutting

If you plan of using a different RIP like Onyx, Flexi, etc... you can look into other cutter brands, but if you plan on staying with Rasterlink, it may be worth it to stay in the Mimaki sphere. I run Onyx for my Epson and Graphtech cutter, but Onyx doesn't really support the UCJV330 fully yet...
