Rollers were in the correct spots. It was the first thing I checked. I tried it again and watched it. It printed white+4C layers, pulled back, lifted rollers and started printing. it's when it advanced the media it lifted up slightly. Unless I put a little tension on the leading edge of the...
Been trying to experiment with layered printing and I wanted to try a print with white and clear. However it cannot print white and clear in the same pass so it has to retract the print (after printing white & 4 color) and then do the clear.
What's happening is the original print is fine then...
After seeing the video I don't think there is any question he should be let go. That is not acceptable in any way for an employee to do that. Even if he was honest about it, just the fact he didn't own up to it just makes it even more solid of a case.
Yeah I totally understand this.
I think I don't like this way because of how Graphtec reads the files. Generally I'll setup my file, say a 2" circle sticker. I save an AI file with the art and cut layers and then place that into a stepped out sheets (says sheets of 25up) then I'll repeat those...
I have not tried that function. I want to be able to print a layout on my UCJV and then cut on my graphtec, but in order to do that I need to use cut master and apply Graphtec reg marks. I wasn't clear enough in my OP.
Now I've got my UCJV running and have started to use it. I forgot how incredibly slow print and cut machines are with cutting. (I printed small labels with a perforation line, print area was approx 48" x 23") Took 15mins to print and 25mins to cut. Not very ideal for production in the cutting...
I had to pay for the upgrade to 22.5, but when the new version gets released this summer I'll be eligible for that because I got 1 year of advantage with the upgrade purchase.
You may check with them as they sometimes run deals around print trade shows. I was able to get a 15% discount because I...
I'm in a basement so the humidity usually stays pretty high. I don't need to run anything on a backup, I want protection for my stuff and it could be too late for me in one case.
Hey everyone,
I'm in a pinch and need someone to help me with some UV printed stickers with spot gloss. Size is about 2.32" x 2.5" and they are a custom cut shape. Would just need them cut to shape or the backer can be square.
(I was going to print them here on my UV machine, but I'm having...
Ok. Guess I have to do some research on this a bit more. Any companies you recommend looking at?
I see SightLine mentioned Eaton and I'm guessing APC make some more industrial UPS systems.
I was just looking for something that will last for about 5-10mins so it gives me time to stop prints and shut them down. I'm just a small guy here in a basement.
That's more of what I'm thinking of.
Hey everyone, I was wondering who uses a UPS/surge protection on their printers, cutters, etc.. And if so what are you using for protection on these expensive items?
We had a bad storm roll through last week and I was typing on my keyboard and got a shock through it from the lightning...
330 is installed now after the ink mix-up was fixed. However it only ended up leaving me with about 2.5hrs for him to show me how to operate the machine, which is very little. I'm pretty much on my own with the manuals for figuring this out and unless I can get someone else here to help speed up...
I don't know about the 2 liter ink thing. The bottles are 1 liter and that's all I have the option for. Yeah the 330 series they have switched for a felt roll for the wiper portion, similar kind of system that Epson has for their SureColor printers. The rolls look small so I'm curious to see how...
Right now Onyx doesn't support the UCJV330, next update will have drivers so I'll have to learn to use Rasterlink for a short time.
Salesman said if I was going to do anything with wet applications they recommended LUS-200 for the white, but of course the 330s are very new and they all have to...
To those that have a mimaki UCJV300. What do you use for blades? The OEM blades are pretty expensive ($130 for 3 blades). Hopefully my machine didn't get any damaged, lighting struck close as I was typing this and I got a shock through my keyboard on my laptop.
Was supposed to have my printer...
I'll have to try Inkscape for those. I know I get a an error when opening it in Ai and the text is outlined so it's hard to make text changes. Also it may do that because some of the fonts are exclusive to Canva. It's usually filled with a bunch of bounding boxes that I have to dig through to...
I think this will become more of an issue with more people using AI to generate images for print. I don't see any problem with it unless they have some kind of copyright, but highly doubtful. I've used Midjourney and Adobe Firefly for background artwork for labels I've done for my cannabis...
Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm 45 now and only have been in this for about 6 yrs now so I've got a looooong way to go before I can settle down, but I don't have a storefront. I'm in a basement with my two printers and two cutters and I love it. I think you'll be happier without the added...
I've gotten several files from Canva that a customer designed. My biggest issue is with fonts if they ask for a type change, they have to make a whole new file. Otherwise I just open SVG files and save them out as Ai files or if its a PNG that needs some resolution I pop it into Gigapixel. If...
