  1. Business Names with no meaning

One of our local bands was named "Sofa King What".... They didn't get much in the way of media attention either, and didn't last long.
  2. Should I move premesis and work in a open environment advice please???

You'll be extremely limited. Even if the office area is large and clean enough for printers/ cutters, the open area won't really be usable when it's cold, or rainy with wind... Plus all the dust that'll get kicked up in that lot would really be a headache, even in a mild breeze since you have no...
  3. Best Third-Party EcoSol-Max Ink

I used Solaris inks in Roland's for years (bulk system). Never had any issues.
  4. A sign related food subject......................................................................................

My dog would have been all over that burrito faster than a hummingbird on crack...
  5. hows the year starting off

We've been crazy busy all year, still are, and no sign of it letting up anytime soon.
  6. Cutter to first vinyl printer...

I think solvent printers are superior for production, but they come with a couple of cons. They require more maintenance, and don't do well sitting idle. If you don't have enough work to keep them going almost daily, you might be better off with a latex. You can get new entry level 54" latex...
  7. Maintaining shop temps

In the graphics & office parts of the building we keep heat set at 65 all winter, AC at 72-75 in the summer. Printer, laminator & cutters are in their own room, it always stays around 68 in that room all winter, between 68-75 year round, and never a massive fluctuation at once. Seems to be...
  8. Business Names

That's gotta raise some eyebrows filling out forms using last name first/ first name last :roflmao:
  9. JV300 Half damper missing

Here's the most common causes of drop outs that you have to keep chasing around. You can probably do a head soak and get it back, but if it returns... Head caps. You already replaced them, also check around the head to make sure there isn't any dried up ink buildup that'll prevent the cap tops...
  10. Bulk Ink Systems

Back in my Roland days I used the same style bulk system as brightbanner does. These systems are only a couple hundred bucks or less, and if you have to get chips, you'll probably spend less than $250, plus inks of course. Plenty of places sell them, you can even get them on Amazon today. Easy...
  11. Race car software

School of racing graphics... They have templates for all different classes of race cars. https://schoolofracinggraphics.com/products/vector-racing-graphics/race-car-templates/
  12. Print laminate cut SMALL graphics?

Adding one to the arsenal was the best investment ever! Better alternative than messing up a $20,000+ laminator for laying graphics, a single roller for our Seal alone cost about 3x what this was
  13. Mimaki CJV150-107 Cyan Is having an issue. Feedback needed

Have you tried different profiles to see if it changes? Did you put the head in the high position and forget to lower it? Odd that it would be just the one color and the cyan test prints are ok... On a single head unit things usually stay uniform across colors, but there are other adjustments...
  14. Mimaki CJV150-107 Cyan Is having an issue. Feedback needed

I replace dampers annually, head caps semi-annually. Yes, they will usually last longer, but why wait for something to fail. It's best to replace all dampers at once for even ink flow through all. I can park the printer for a week, or run it 10 hours daily, and don't get drop outs. As far as...
  15. Print laminate cut SMALL graphics?

For 2x6" graphics, you could probably just hand laminate them with a squeegee. That's brilliant. I don't "need" a flatbed laminator enough to justify the cost, but it sure would be handy at times. We have a glass top lighted table we built, and I've been eyeing up that video myself. Who knows...
  16. Print laminate cut SMALL graphics?

2" tall for a semi? Like USDOT numbers? We do hundreds of those, just cut colored sign vinyl, no need to print or laminate, they'll still be good a decade down the road.
  17. Print laminate cut SMALL graphics?

We picked up a manual one a few months ago too, just for laminating small stuff, proofs, samples, and applying vinyl to substrates. Great having that extra capability to use up end rolls & scraps of laminate on small jobs, you can lay 4x8 prints to substrates in a minute or two... And they're so...
  18. No ink shifting from Yellow to Kay channel. WTF???

Usually ends up being head caps or dampers when you have to chase problems like that. When was the last time they were replaced? I'd start with making sure there's ink in the lines, no air bubbles, and dampers have ink in them. I've had a couple of incidents with our Mimaki where it didn't...
  19. This Old Roland (LEJ-640FT) - Service Call 0151

Wow, no experience with that model, but it looks like something Roland should have had some sort of preventative cleaning/ lubricating maintenance procedure for.
  20. Reflective Cut-out Decals/Sticker

I use Oralite 5650RA for stuff like that. It's a 7 year, prints awesome, cuts clean, has air release for easy application. It also isn't as hard on blades as other reflective vinyls, on a Summa I'd use a 55 degree blade, and don't run it too fast.
