if i am understanding you correctly, it is a very simple answer
AC or DC is not like the choice between vanilla or chocolate
you can only power a transformer with AC. dc on a transformer will only give you smoke and a burned up transformer
DC requires a "chop" or driver circuit and power...
amazon has some PRIME but looks like $94. but 2day shipping
if no cracks, the old one is fine
BE CAREFUL of spilled ink
i use cvs alcohol wipes where cleanup is necessary
i was worried that it would be a crack on a manifold nipple.
the damn things are fragile , like your grandmother's christmas ornaments
he would need to take a bright light & a magnifier to examine the nipple in question AT LEAST I NEED THEM
the manifolds are inexpensive & fairly easy to change...
damonca21,
doesn't this sound like a fuse?
perhaps ink spill or a foil conductor bent over on a ribbon cable, causing a blown fuse?

take a syringe and FILL the captop until the felt is covered then get the headl back in resting position
now...

there are some...

(if you ever want to move a body up lots of stairs anthony hopkins endorses that model handtruck
if it was left for a while i am awfully sure the printhead is NOT ALRIGHT
by the time you have a line clog, the printhead is just a fond memory
you need to VERY CAREFULLY remove each line from dampers and pull through with a syringe. (solvent inket sells tapered syringes that are PERFECT FOR...
hire a professional mover to get the printer uptairs. 2 guys who will carry the printer up the stairs.
talk to a piano moving company. take a window out & skip the stairs
i would disagree that leaving the printer in the box will do anything but increase bulk enough to make getting over that...
