  1. Flatbed cutter users - how do you estimate time?

Trying to figure a shop rates based on what it should be in theory is nonsense. How long it takes the machine to perform is only a fraction of what it really is. Unless your shop is different and you have perfected every scenario Don't forget to add.. I broke a bit and had to buy a new one. I...

  6. Filling year end capacity

Sounds like a pitch from NPR. "We are so close to meeting our goal but we need your help" Myself I don't care about other peoples sales goals. Heck I don't care about my own sales. I only care about what's leftover. Good luck in meeting your goals

Think big. Somebody got a million bucks for this
  8. Mildew/grime inside lit channel letters

I would recommend a new sign or at the very least new faces. Trying to make an old face look new cost the same as a new face in my shop. That's only fair cause what happens if you break something. If they balked at that I would run away. Even for an experienced sign mechanic working on old...

  11. Branding companies....just dont!

Go do the work and then sit back and wait to get paid, who knows when, by someone you don't know. I put an end to that a long time ago. I keep my focus on my work. Sometimes collecting is harder than the actual work. I only do it if it's paid in advance.

  14. Need Help Does anyone have a good recommendation for print vinyl that will stick to outdoor Ice merchandisers?

Why not put your print on a piece of ACM and attach that to the doors?
  15. 3M Blue Tape alternative

I've always found that trying to find cheaper tools and materials ends up costing more. Cheaper usually means inferior product. I can understand wanting to save a buck but a roll of tape is just pennies compared to what the sign should sell for.

  18. How do you handle color matching with clients?

Anything that is subjective like color matching is a PIA. It's a rabbit hole. There is no such thing thing as exact color matching. Everything looks different. If it's printed it looks different under different light conditions and materials used. Good luck in trying to please the ones who...
  19. Windows 10 and open type fonts

This is one of the reasons I have been anti flexi and all those others except CDR and AI
  20. Translucent Panel Print

I wanna see a pic of the failed seam. How bad is it. Can we put a band aid on to hide it. Printed solid color face always look bad. Translucent vinyl with a properly done seam would make a nice looking sign.
