  1. Wholesale source for sandblasted wood signs?

I'm not having any success kicking up anyone local. Any recommendations? Merchant Member would be preferred, but at this point, just need a reliable source willing to ship.
  2. Business cards

4over....and they have a branch in Arlington, so shipping is pretty quick.
  3. Neon sign on tile

Why are the tiles going to crack? A decent diamond hole saw would work fine and isn't going to crack the tile. I agree with the other comments though....better to cover everything up if you can. But regardless, drilling in tile isn't that difficult, you just need patience and the proper tools.
  4. Hi from San Diego

Yeah, the 'S' looks upside down...wasn't sure if that was an install thing or a font thing. And yeah, I've done a bunch of stuff there for your previous employer....excluding those letters. :)
  5. Hi from San Diego

I'm curious - on the Pirch signs, is that just how the font is supposed to be - where the 'S' looks upside down?
  6. Halo-Lit Letter Faces?

The letters you posted are not "back lit" or "halo lit" channel letters. In the electrical sign industry, "back lit" means the light is coming out the back of the letter. These are also called "halo lit" or "reverse lit" or "reverse channel letters". The letters you posted are standard "face...

  9. Halo-Lit Letter Faces?

Just helping with the verbiage: Those faces are off "front-lit" or "internally illuminated" channel letters. "Back-lit" channel letters have acrylic/polycarbonate backs and are typically referred to as "halo-lit", "reverse-lit" or "back-lit". If the faces and backs are...

  11. Best Piece Of Machinery / Tools / Equipment

Thanks, Pat. And yep, they do come in handy. I keep one in the Tough Box. :)
  12. Best Piece Of Machinery / Tools / Equipment

I don't have a shop since 98% of what I do is install, but my best tools are my ladders, DeWalt Tough System, and the DeWalt Tstak setup in my truck. Then there are a slew of hand and power tools that make installing a ton easier (laser level, laser distance measurer, kinesiology scissors (great...
  13. Refacing Giant Billboard With Banner Strips Like Wallpaper?

To be fair, you asked for suggestions. People offered them and you poo-pooed most of them, which is your prerogative. Just weird to ask for suggestions, shoot all of them down, not give a reason why or any information to offer alternative suggestions. So it sounds like you just want...
  14. Refacing Giant Billboard With Banner Strips Like Wallpaper?

I'm not one to try to stir stuff up, so don't take this that way....but I'm genuinely confused. You asked for suggestions but seem to already have your mind made up to do it with multiple banners. You've been doing signs for 30 years, but ask for suggestions for a pretty straightforward...

  17. What paint for lexan pan face sign refurbishment?

That's what I'm thinking - one large vinyl overlay. Done. Probably last better than paint, even if it is just over a 6 month period.
