  1. TEXTUR3D™ Dimensional Logo

Yeah, it could always be better. But again, it was basically done as a favor, so I'm not one to pick stuff like that apart and complain about it. :) Thanks, Rick! Only if it's one that I installed.
  2. TEXTUR3D™ Dimensional Logo

Just thought this came out pretty cool. It was basically done as a favor by one of the vendors I use.
  3. Seaming DiBond

My two cents: Use a vertical seam rather than horizontal. Place the vertical seam on one of the raised ribs. A piece of VHB tape the length of the panels will keep the seam even. Use THESE the length of the seam (and elsewhere on the panels), paint-to-match the faces ahead of time.
  4. DeWalt 20v Max DCG412 4½" Cordless Grinder Cut Off Cutoff Tool

I've literally only used this a handful of times and no longer have a use for it. Excellent condition, some minor scuff marks. Asking $95 shipped. Open to offers.
  5. Frame for backlit sign

Every municipality is different, but chances are you need both a license and some pretty stout insurance. You need to go find that out from your municipality - not from a forum.
  6. Channel Letter help for assembly.

That's my concern as well. I'm baffled by some of the posts on the forum. You're making channel letters, but don't know the terminology let alone the very basics of how to build them. Do you know how to attach them to the wall so they don't fall and hurt/kill someone? Are you licensed to...
  7. Frame for backlit sign

By 'frames' do you mean the cabinet? This is said out of concern: Some of the posts on this forum make me wonder how people are building/modifying electrical signs when the terminology being used isn't even close to industry terminology. I said this in another post I just made: I'm not...
  8. Channel Letter help for assembly.

What you're referring to as 'channel letter signs' are called 'returns' and 'backing of the letters' are called 'backs'. Not trying to be a jerk. It's Signs 101...if you're going to be manufacturing them, might as well know the industry terms. Pop riveting or stapling are going to be your best bet.

  10. Why must people in this line of work do this....

Replacing other letters with z's and x's isn't necessarily my taste, but there are some pretty successful companies that take that approach. Would I do it? No.
  11. New Website

Your portfolio looks great! There's some really nice work in there. One thing I noticed: Your logo and your Contact page both say 'Graphics' but everywhere else on the site says 'Graphic' - even your web address. That aside, your work and the site looks really nice, good job.
  12. perfect afternoon

Sounds similar to my night. A little Buffalo Trace and home made Italian food.
  13. A couple of ACM jobs...

    Thanks, Gino!
  14. Install Signs Level and Perpendicular on Clapboard Siding

Assuming you're talking about panels of some sort, have you considered using a frame out of 1" square aluminum tube? The vertical ends could span the siding which would keep the sign plumb. Mount the frame, mount the sign to the frame. Should be pretty easy.
  15. A couple of ACM jobs...

A couple of the signs from a 12-hour day of installs earlier this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGSIdsX-mUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O805PfrvNjA
  16. Walldog Mural Event in Butler PA

That's cool - looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  17. Stuff you've found while installing

Yikes...at least they (hopefully) didn't try to pin it on him. From my understanding, if you damage a fiber optic line and didn't call for a locate, the minimum fine is in the neighborhood of $45k. It can't be patched, so it generally has to be replaced from the origin to wherever it terminates.
  18. Stuff you've found while installing

Sprinkler lines, chunks of concrete, tree roots....:frustrated:
  19. uShip - The only way to ship your Large Format Printer!

Uship is great. I'm pretty sure they're owned by eBay. I could be wrong. I shipped a 6.0l from Dallas to Idaho for a smidge over $400. Just give them time to bid on it. My first bid was for around $700, which I thought was a great price. A day or two later, it was down to just above $400.
