How are you bringing it into Rasterlink? If you're using the FineCut plug-in you need to designate the cut layer even if you have the spot color set before sending the job to the hot folder. If you just open the file in Rasterlink it should work the way you're already setup though.
There's usually 2 situations with chargebacks.
1. A criminal simply used a stolen credit card to order on your site and
2. A customer isn't happy with the transaction.
In the first case the only thing you can do is prevention. Learn what a fraudulent order looks like and ask for more...
It's in service mode (Power on while holding function 1 and function 3) in the adjustment menu and is called, "Head Wash". When it asks you to go fill the ink again, that's when you would turn the machine off and change parameter 32.
Gotcha. You should be able to use the ethernet port on that machine for both communication and emails. I believe Mimaki recommends a cat 6 cable but it should work fine. I feel like some techs have issues with customer's networks and just don't want to deal with it so they say, "just use USB" to...
You are correct about the ink line between the lines. You can actually just use those connectors that are already on there. They have little rubber stoppers that you can pull off and attach the line. You're also supposed flush the system before switching colors as well. Once the system is...
lol sorry. I just mentioned his name because it will notify him to this post. He's a tech who works on Rolands and knows more than me. I believe he's actually up in the north west so it might be something he could help you with in person as well. He works for a dealer I believe.
Always a good thing to do! I've installed 4 or 5 of these machines and they definitely had some bugs that were frustrating to deal with at first but have been fixed for the most part. It's a great machine for the price and all of our customers eventually told us they love the machine once we got...
I am not 100% sure to be honest. The JV100 uses a non-Epson head so my guess is the AS5 inks are the inks the head manufacturer sells to Mimaki. The rumor is the heads are Brother brand but I haven't confirmed that. I have 1 customer using them and he really likes the color and quality. He's...
It depends on what Mimaki you are using. It sounds weird but, some of them, like the CJV150, have an ethernet port that simply won't let you send jobs to it but it's there specifically to setup the email alerts. You can actually use it along with the USB connection.
I think it's better to have defined roles but with the flexibility to help out where needed when it comes down to it. For example, it's hard to find a good designer let alone 5. I'm willing to bet out of the 5 of you, 1 or 2 are better designers and maybe even enjoy it more. I bet 1 or 2 of you...
Go into service mode and print the nozzle check. Your head prints multiple sized dots. Sometimes heads fail and only show the defect in one of the sizes. In user mode, the nozzle check prints only the largest sized dot. In service mode it will print the smaller dots and you might see a defect in...
I can think of 2 non-programming ways to accomplish this. You could have them simply download a CSV file of the orders every day and send the file with all the orders at once instead of one at a time. Or just have their platform CC you on order confirmations.
I use a password manager so it's not an inconvenience at all. Once someone can get into your email, they can get into pretty much every other account you have. Your email should be protected the most. Not to mention it looks pretty unprofessional when you customers get phishing emails from your...
