  1. Need Help Mimaki JFX200-2513 print durability outdoor

I usually say 2-3 years depending on exposure to elements. Then the customer is happy if it last longer
  2. Need Help Mimaki JFX200-2513 cut edges ink chipping

Is the material your using UV ink acceptable. I ran a JFX200 for 4 years and never had a problem with that. We printed/cut Coro, aluminum, ACM, aluminum and acrylic
  3. Need Help Ordering a Mimaki JFK 200-2513, Good Move?

I ran a JFX 200 for many years. We had one of the first 9 that came to the states. We took a risk on word from our Mimaki rep and bought it without seeing it run. This is a great machine. I know the printer is supposed to change the filters every year but we never did and had the machine for...
  4. Graphic Tracer

Will have to check it out. We have been using Vector Magic and it works very well. https://vectormagic.com/
  5. Printer to direct print to Coroplast, Mutoh 1638UV didn't work

We had a Mimaki JFX200 and it printed coroplast no problem all day. We now have 2 EFI machines 16H Hybrid and 24F Flatbed. I can print 1 side of coroplast in about 8 minutes. All we do is clean with isopropyl alcohol and print.
  6. When does a vendor become a competitor?

I personally will not spend any money with a vendor if they are also in the business of selling printed goods. They of course will be able to out bid me on any job since they will be getting the materials cheaper.
  7. Dealing with bowed material

why not get 4'x8' sheets and cut them yourself? You would save yourself money and have control over the process. I buy hundreds of sheets of 040 aluminum and 3mm Palight PVC from Grimco and run full sheets no problem. A good sheer large enough will only run you a couple thousand, but will...
  8. 4over just cost us a major client

Creative Banner or Showdown Displays. They are the same company just branded differently. We have used them for the feather flags and banner stands. Although we print the inserts in house to control that part we just use the hardware. I have never had a stand come in that has not worked and...
  9. RUST - Files -

skepple.net Not sure if they have any files to buy but they do a lot of rust wrap designs.
  10. Need Help Two-sided banner EFI Pro 16H

2 sided printing on this machine will be tough. You will need to use the fence to line it up to make sure it starts in the exact same spot on the feed. You will also have a hard time getting it lined up exactly centered on media. if you are not exactly centered on the media when you flip it...
  11. What kind of PC do you get for large format files .tiffs and such

Do not go cheap on a design or RIP computer. We spend right about $3,000 on all design computers and $1,800 on RIP computers. The time it takes for a slow computer to process things is a pain and frustrating. We have ours built by a local company. If anything goes wrong they will have it...
  12. Recommendations for printer/cutter configuration

I am going to go against the HP Hybrid UV Printers. They are good for most stuff but the EFI 16H has far better quality prints. I am saying that as I print stuff on our 16H for another sign company that has the HP 550 Hybrid machine. As far as a true flatbed not having enough speed that is...
  13. Printable "indoor/low tac" vinyl

Avery 2611 is what we use all the time.
  14. Routing Ultraboard foam speeds and feeds smooth edge

That yellow sign does not look like UltraBoard Foam Substrate. It looks more like a PVC to me. On foam products we knife cut them on our Zund.
  15. S50675 - Pantone Colors not matching. Cyan especially

changes in the environment(temp/humidity) can change the colors. Might not be the problem but I notice it here mainly with humidity.
  16. Sewing banners

Juki 1560 double needle with 1/2 spacing and you can sew all day
  17. Banner welding

Look into a sewing machine instead. We switch from a Leister heat welder to a double needle Juki and love it. We have gotten a lot more jobs from being able to sew in webbing on mesh. Also with a sewing machine you can do longer banners unless you have an extremely long table.
  18. What features on a router can't you do without

If you plan on doing any aluminum I would go with some type of lubrication system. We have it on out Zund and love it. If you do not lubricate the bit you will burn through the bits like crazy and mess up a lot of material.
  19. The jump to Flatbed / Finishing Table (Kongsberg)

We started out outsourcing all of our direct to substrate printing. We started getting screwed over so we made the jump and bought our first flatbed a Mimaki JFX200. Was not the fastest but suited our needs at the time and got us by for a few years. We then added the EFI 1625 hybrid. I would...
  20. Need a super silent air compressor for garage

Rotary Screw is the quietest type. SullAir or Kaeser brands are amazing. I am sure there are others that are comparable. You will be looking at around $10,000 though. Good luck on anyting around $250 range.
