Bad foil or bad material causes that. Doesn't mean the entire roll of vinyl or the foil was bad but that's most likely your problem.

speckled ='s halftone, fisheyes on bad material or wrong profile/heat setting. Post a pic.

Are your colors set to spot or cmyk? When a head goes bad you usually lose a pixel and will get a very thin white line through the print.

Doesn't really matter, It's all about brush control & paint viscosity and takes practice, practice, practice to master. Get some striping and lettering quills and have some fun. I hand lettered and striped for many years and rarely get requests for hand lettering since the digital age...

Gerber's vinyl is made by 3M and goes through an extra cleaning process to remove surface contaminates that can/could effect Thermal printing like when using the Gerber Edge. 3M 7125 colors are the same and less expensive.
