  1. What are you using to clean the glass for vinyl?

I like Sprayway Glass Cleaner. Best glass cleaner I've ever used. Haven't tried Bon Ami. From what I can tell you have to mix it with water to form a paste? Seems like it would be messy to clean up...? Also, not sure if this is an issue, but the website says: "This formula leaves behind a...
  2. Problem.....WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

I would vote bird droppings. The droppings are acidic and if they can damage the paint on a car, it wouldn't surprise me if it's dripping down and negatively affecting the bond between the vinyl and the adhesive. Birds poop on the van, it drips down, catches the tops of the letters, some of...
  3. Flex Face Install

    Milliken or Glantz
  4. Font ID

    Thank you, I appreciate it.
  5. 3rd Generation

That's awesome. He had some talent, for sure.
  6. Font ID

This may be a stretch, but can anyone identity the font of the two sets of letters shown? Thanks in advance.
  7. Shout out to Phillip

Figured I'd post this up more for Phillip then for anything I did. Phillip did the pretty work. I did the grunt work. I'm getting too old to dig holes.
  8. Letters on metal siding...no access behind

Years ago, I ruined a foam letter because the stud hung up in the hole in metal siding just like the OP is describing. I couldn't get it to go in further and I couldn't get it out (there were three other studs that were basically all of the way in). It's one of those things you only have to do...
  9. Letters on metal siding...no access behind

Everyone has their own method obviously, but I use studs (with nuts for plumbing the letters on the low spots in the siding), VHB tape, and silicone. It's also a good idea to either drill the holes slightly over-sized or wallow them out a little with your drill bit. The threaded studs can hang...
  10. New Logo

Sounds like VistaPrint. Also looks like VistaPrint with the first word bolder than the second. I like the logo guy though.
  11. DeWalt 20v Max Cordless SDS Rotary Hammer Drill, DeWalt Dust Extractor

Rotary hammer is sold. Dust extractor is still available.
  12. DeWalt 20v Max Cordless SDS Rotary Hammer Drill, DeWalt Dust Extractor

This is a tool I no longer need. It works perfectly and works excellent for drilling in concrete and masonry. It includes the original case and all owners manuals. Batteries and charger are not included. Two notes: 1.) The side handle that is included with this is not the original. This one...

  14. recommended adhesive for mitered acrylic

Weld-On 3 or 16. 3 is watery thin and works nice for capillary application and sets up very fast. 16 is syrupy and gives you a bit more working time.
  15. Vinyl mounted to masonite?

Should be fine if it's indoors.
  16. Backpainting 2nd Surface Vinyl

UV coated poly, 2nd surface vinyl, backsprayed.... Good to go.
  17. Mounting Gemini letters on granite

Granite doesn't tend to crack. It WILL break out on the back when the bit punches through if the granite isn't adhered to a backer, but since this is an outside wall, that shouldn't be an issue. 42 holes, no cracks, just break-out. Skip to 4:50 to see what it does to the back...
  18. Mounting Gemini letters on granite

An SDS rotary hammer delivers a lot more impact energy than a hammer drill.
  19. Mounting Gemini letters on granite

It'll take about 2 hours. How exactly would you go about mounting a (edit: an 18") formed plastic letter with VHB and silicone?
