Any deals on the FB700?

These are the two that I have been eyeing and like you, I am leaning towards the FB. I am no expert on flatbeds, but to me it seems that you would get much more production out of the belt driven as opposed to a true vacuum flatbed. No masking off and continuos production is key.

Has anybody printed any 8' wide banner material on this machine? If so, how well does it work? I have seen it print 54" material, but was wondering if there were any issues with the wider material.

We had a motherboard go out with in the first 3 months of having ours and not a problem since. Had it a little over a year and are still extremely happy with our purchase. Just wish their was a third party ink with better durability.

People are just giving these things away.

We compete head to head with Bush signs on a lot of Tennessee political jobs. Pat is correct, political is extremely competitive with thin margins. Unless you are a screen printer (or subbing to a screen printer) you will not be competitive.

We outsource some flatbed printing to a company that runs a Gandi flatbed and the color has been different ever single time and no where near the specified PMS color. I guess it may be a common problem with the machine.

10sacer: are you running their router as well? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Welcome! Your company sounds very similar to ours. We are non-textile screen printers with a digital department. Looking to get into the flatbed market in the near future as well.
