  1. Want to see one of the nicest wide format print facilities around?

Very nice facility, but just looks like a designing firm with some roll to roll printers. We could definitely take some pointers on interior design, but we are more of a manufacturing facility than a store front (very little walk in traffic).
  2. Ceiling hangers

    I second FFR.
  3. Signs365.com

Glad it worked for you, but we have sent them the same file asking them to match the same PMS color at least four times and it has come back different (and no where close) each time. It wasn't a big deal and the customer was very understanding, but if it was a big deal...that would be a $1k out...
  4. Signs365.com

They are a great company to work with and have a great business model. Their prices are great and they are extremely quick. I would not suggest using them when you have a critical pms color to match. Other than that, they are a great company and definitely recommend using them.

  6. Wide format printer... opinions?

We use to run to Arizona solvent printers and we never laminated anything before our Epson. Like said above, you would obviously have to laminate wraps. We had prints that were outside 5+ years and never faded, scratched or anything. Wish our Epson was as durable as our solvent printers, but...
  7. Bus ad styrene, what to do with after?

This. We have had Primex send a truck to pick up skids of drops out of runs and credit our account. Can't remember the price, but it seems close to $.04 per pound. A win-win for everybody.
  8. Recommend some good 18oz banner material

We have been using Bantex 18oz for several years and love it. We have been getting it custom cut to 63"x75' for a job that we regularly run. Lately we have been getting out bid and the only option left is to research new materials. I am looking for something similar/comparable to Bantex 18oz...
  9. Epson GS600 vs. other printers

We had a color shift in all our colors (most notably the green) when we updated our rip (Colorburst). The update allowed for faster printing, but under a loop was printing less or larger dots. Looked more like a 4 color machine printing than an 8 color. We ended up reverting back to the older...
  10. Epson GS600 vs. other printers

Had the GS6000 for 18 months with minimal issues. Fantastic quality, minimal maintenance and works like a horse. Can't ask for much more.
  11. Flat bed fun

Nice stuff. Is that the new Agfa M2540? If so, how do you like it?
  12. Flatbed Printer Installation!

55 4x8s an hour fast. Closing in on our screen presses (150/hour).

    Those are pretty neat.

  15. GS6000 Green Head Issue

We have had a few minor speed bumps with our GS6000 and Epson has been great. No finger pointing, questioning, etc, they just fix the problem. Anything that has become a known issue with these printers, they have been more than willing to fix on their dime. If something is not right, they...
  16. This is what happens when you don't wrap with cast vinyl.

I hope you are charging an arm and a leg removing that sh!t. I am sure there are trade secrets that make a world of difference, but I will never remove vinyl again. At our shop rate and the experiences we have had, they might as well buy a "newer" used car.
  17. Premask for RTA vinyl cut lettering

Never tried it. Thanks for the info. Our house premask is TransferRite 782U and works well except for when it hits the humidity. Everything we have used seems to always buckle/lift from the liner and we need something that will layflat.
  18. Premask for RTA vinyl cut lettering

What premask do you use for RTA vinyl cut lettering? These will be 3"x10" vinyl cut logos for a snowboard shop to inventory and sell. They need to layflat and be presentable as they may have them for a while. Everything we have ever used has curled and buckled as soon as any humidity gets...
  19. HP FB700 Purchase

Sorry to hear about your printer going down, but also appreciate your honesty. You never want to hear just the positives on a piece of equipment. I want to hear about all the real world experiences and headaches that you face on a day to day basis.
