Just a thought here, would it be worth using the cheaper media for prints you’re laminating and the premium paper for the ones you’re not?

Have you tried printing with a different profile to see if you experience the same results? Should tell you if the colour is achievable and that should help narrow down if it’s the PH’s or the profile/something different?

What version of rasterlink and what trouble are you having? Is there any reason you want cut only software when you have a printer too?

Depends where you see them. If it’s from Indonesia etc then it’s a $600 head that will likely never appear

I’d go with rasterlink 6 if this is your only printer. It does what it needs to and is literally made for mimaki. It’s cheap and does what it needs to. If you plan on printing a lot, I’d highly recommend at least getting a trial of onyx at some point, it’s much easier to use, very visually...

Haven’t used that media so can’t help there, but most paint manufacturers recommend 1 month minimum before putting vinyl on a newly painted surface

Simply put, charge as much as you can and they still want to pay. There are a lot of factors that come into play here. Put a mark up on that makes them worth your time and never try to compete with online vendors!
