  4. the laziness of customers and their expectations

I picked up a new customer recently that is in the decal business. They do however get calls for cut vinyl and for some reason, even though they have the equipment to do this, they don't want to and send it to me and they resell it. I love doing this kind of work as files are provided and the...
  5. Need Flexi Sign Program

Out of curiosity, just what is the monthly subscription rate? Is it endless? Does the subscription cover the cost of the software or is it an add on to the $$$ you spend on the initial purchase of said software? I am a Flexi user for print only but have not upgraded to any Cloud service...
  6. 3m 7725 ISSUE

I had a batch of graphics returned as garbage from a client. We used the 7725 3m vinyl with the synthetic backer as the graphics were very intricate and small. I tried removing a decal and basically everything was stuck to the liner. I then wet each one and removed the premask. I then...

  8. cutting backs of decals for easy peeling

The only reason I have found to do this is if they are die cut right to the edge and you cant separate the decal from the edge of the paper. if your printing them in house and cutting them on a plotter, there really is no reason to slit the backs... There is a hand tool you can buy to do it...

  13. Near disaster averted

Started a print job and was sitting at my comp about 6 feet away. I bought these little tools that can only be described as dentist tools, although they are not of the same quality at $7 . In any case I use them to remove caked up ink or any other number of things around the printer and...
  14. Shrinkage after Contour Cutting - Advice needed

I did about 25 parking signs last week and I cut them all at 12" x 18" printed and laminated. Not one of them fit correctly. My fault, I should have made the cut along the black borders instead of trying to cover the entire panel... Non printed calendered seems to shrink at a much slower...
  15. Flexi and PhotoPrint RIP

I have used photoprint for 7 years with my Mimaki and it is simply print or print and cut, but not cut only, which is fine as I run Signlab for everything else. If I ever upgrade printers the fear is that switching from photoprint makes all those thousands of files pretty much useless I...
