Braille signs have to be ADA compliant, and the "tactile" pieces of the ADA sign are meant to be touched repeatedly by those needing the braiile, so the braille should be done with a certain material (beads) that are made to be touched repetitively and not be rough on the (sensitive) fingers...

We ordered 20 rolls of 3M 180c in within the past week from Grimco, was able to even score some 48" rolls. It's out there, but you have to call everyone to find it.

I am a big fan of the 60600 series, but honestly I would wait until 2nd generation on anyone's technology. The "resin" isn't much different from the "latex", but with it being new tech I would still not trust it for long-term without proof. I still do not see it listed as a 3M MCS approved...

3M Makes a vinyl specifically for stainless steel - 180SLS. We use it on trailer stainless rear panels.

I've had to replace the sensor for that on an EnVision 375 plotter before, they can go bad.

We quote the amount of hours it will take to recreate the artwork, most customers miraculously find it after that. If not, they pay for the rebuild. However, on jobs like fleet wraps we can usually just include it in the design fee if it is a simple logo/design.

Is it talking the correct language (HGPL, etc)? I had an old 8600 a while back and occasionally it would change the language it was communicating through and took me forever to figure out what was wrong with it the first time.

I was talking about laminating printed vinyl. We use 3M 180c and 8518/8519 primarily, so it may not work with other brands, but it works on these if you do it right away.

On most laminates it takes a few minutes for the glue to really "set". So, if it is a single panel job like this you can get it off the laminator quickly and onto your production table and yank the laminate back off before it sets up. We've had to do this with pieces that get a wrinkle or other...

They definitely waste way less material. They don't run through a lot of ink sitting idle and do a good job of keeping their selves clean. It is the vinyl. Oracal reflective does NOT like curves at all. I used it for years at a previous sign shop and we always fought this. I went to another shop that used 3M 280 series reflective and have never had this issue since.

Get a print sample from an Epson 40600, ours all print amazingly (ours are 60600 but same heads/gamut). We print on all different types of materials; wrap vinyl, canvas, banner, coated papers, etc, etc. Get a good rep and have them send you samples. Yes, a latex is always going to be grainy...

We have used 8508 for many years for fleet (box truck) graphics without issue. Usually we use 8519, but we have a couple large fleets that wanted a cheaper combo and have had no issues from it.
