Thought someone on here might have first hand experience with them. Tried doing research on my own but I'm not getting clear answers. Guess I need to start contacting some companies.
Usually talk to them see what they like, what they want and go from there. If I get one one of those customers that has no idea what they like, want or need I'll ask to help narrow it down.
I would think about any cnc would be able to handle it. The only problem doing it this way is the material needs to be a consistent thickness if it is a little thicker or thinner in spots it will show. This is the type of bit I was talking about-...
Could be done on CNC, we have a .125 round over bit that comes to a point. It would cut it out and round over with same bit. It's too thin to use a round over bit with a bearing in a hand held router or router table.
I have only used one with a vacum table.On the rare occasion that I need to clamp something down it's a major pain in the butt. I'm sure people do go without but I think it's money well spent.
The only router that I have used is a Gerber Sabre. They are on the expensive side but in the nearly 20 years we have had it it's been trouble free. However I think you could get more for your money in todays market.
Your right I need access but not control. Most of the programs I have seen allow you you to control the the computer remotely but files can't be moved between them.
