  1. Need Help HP Scitex error: encoder strip

Oops, FB500 Media is read and sized just fine with the carriage moving back and forth. The problem starts at the first line of printing
  2. Need Help HP Scitex error: encoder strip

    bump. Anybody?
  3. Need Help White ink

This sounds like the ink is clogging the nozzles. Maybe try a better quality white ink.
  4. Need Help White ink

I select multiple white passes in my software settings. Look at your software you might find something. At the very least you should be able to print at a higher dpi. Look out for options such as number of passes, double print, or ink layers. If nothing, then you can just try to print only...
  5. Need Help HP Scitex error: encoder strip

Hi all, Scitex was printing fine until at the very end of print (48" wide) the carriage hit the ACM substrate on the corner at the service end due to table being bumped at back end and substrate shift. Now it will not print. I keep getting error to clean or replace encoder strip. I inspected...
  6. Need Help White ink

Not sure I understand your English but sounds like you might need to increase the white passes if your white ink is fading. My printer has 4 white ink lines/nozzles on a DX5 printhead (CMYKWWWW) but I still need to do 2-4 layers to get a good white color.
  7. Quick favor from someone with a home fb500/700?

Mine has a variance of 1/8"
  8. Need Help L25500 Jamming

Yup. For the most part i don't miss this machine. The head strikes were random throughout the day and leaving it printing overnight was always a gamble - even if observed for an hour without any problems before leaving it alone. There are add-on magnetic edge holders that are quite expensive...
  9. helicopter email... ...for a banner?

To those who don't see how a helicopter can tow a banner, Check out the link that was posted earlier. There is pic of a helicopter doing it.
  10. Weird way to install tenant panels

My vote goes to temporary signs. Maybe until they get permanent ones made up or maybe because they think there will be a high turnover rate for the stores and don't want a permanent sign messing up their ultra-modern monument lol
  11. Compress iUV-1200s flatbed printer problem

Hi! Sorry for the late response. Its OK. Support has been a nightmare but it is relatively easy to fix print issues by yourself if you have prior experience with the DX5 printheads. Again, tech support is bad. They just blame everything on the software. Its not the software its the printer.
  12. Anybody ever use Oracal 3651 Clear as laminate in a pinch?

We've used it for jobs that are short term econo priced decals and it works just fine. Long term graphics indoors can tend to curl up on the edges. Long term sun exposure cracks and browns.
  13. page jumble

Holding "Ctrl" and scrolling the mouse wheel works as well.
  14. Compress iUV-1200s flatbed printer problem

Just in case anybody else has the same problem with their dx5 printhead it was an FFC cable that was damaged. A quick replace and it was fixed.
  15. Compress iUV-1200s flatbed printer problem

Does anybody have experience with this machine? I did a manual printhead flush with flushing solution to clear some nozzles. Afterward yellow refused to print. I though I might have gotten some air in the line so I flushed the line too and refilled with ink. Still nothing. I changed the...
  16. air egress vinyl...wet install?

I've tried and it does not end well. Whatever you use to wet mount it gets trapped in little pockets and winds up looking like a bad dry installation of regular adhesive vinyl. Its a waste of money and time.
  17. Need Help Summa F1612 Conveyor Belt Depth Mapping?

Hi everybody! I recall there being something in the software for the summa flatbed that maps out the variances in depth on the cutting area to give a better cut but I cant seem to find it. It migth've been on another machine, but I figured I'd ask here because I'm not finding it it myself...

  19. Adobe to Corel

Corel can handle most .ai .pdf .eps etc files just fine. I added Corel to my workflow years ago to augment production but I find myself using it for all vector files now. The learning curve is a hurdle but it is much better for vector files in my opinion and well worth the little extra effort...
