Like others said: create boundary tool or reduce nodes. Maybe both. I you really want to use the weld combine tool you can do a few shapes at a time instead of all of them at once.

Signmart here in Southern California sells "HIGH PERFORMANCE SILICONE FOR THE SIGN INDUSTRY" and we have never had a problem with it adhering to acrylic. I would still try to convince my customer against it though since it is being mounted onto bricks.

Sign Grade Silicone? I think drilling into it and using stand-offs would look the absolute best, however.
