No problem, and I am not insulted, just wanted to clarify that troubleshooting by phone is very difficult to begin with, and with unusual circumstances as you describe, it can be downright impossilble, even for the best of techs. Glad you got it resolved!
  3. Little black lines in print on Falcon Outdoor

You just need make sure to keep the 'print' side of the strip facing the same direction (towards the sensor) So you would flip it end over end without rotating it.
  4. Little black lines in print on Falcon Outdoor

The encoder strip is a clear strip with tick marks that the printer uses to identify the location of the carriage. The sensor (I believe) only reads a small area of this strip. It can be flipped over, but if the scratch is through the entire width that will probably not solve your issue.

Like henryp says our techs work the best they can with the information they are given. What they give you (I am assuming for free) is the most likely cause of the problem you describe over the phone. You've described a user error in not seating the damper properly. Not something a trained...
  6. Desperate for help!!!

The network address you set up in the SEH box IS the network addres of your printer, and must be identical to the address of the printer in your RIP. (i.e. 172.18.3.62) Your PC network address must be different in the last field. (i.e. 172.18.3.200) This may make it easier as well if your...

Of course there has been issues with cartridges. They have not caused problems for most of our users. Sorry, if they have for you. We have gone back to the original cartridges, that should be what you are seeing now.

Yes, it could be cap. Check the waste tank, if it is dry after doing a number of cleanings, then it probably is the capping station. There should be some waste going into the waste tray.

I would carefully check all your connections to the head/carriage board. Make sure to turn the machine off, unplug it, and hit the power button a couple of times to discharge the capacitors, before you start.

Apparently VGI turned this over to their attorney in April of 2010, at which time contact between Mutoh and VGI was terminated, so there is nothing more that I can add until this case is resolved.

I am willing. I have no problem if someone wants to write Mutoh a bad review, as long as it is valid. Heck, we're not perfect. I would like to see the other side of this argument posted for balance. There are two sides to every argument, as you have seen, my friend, lol I think the...

Because they dont extend gamut. If you dilute C and M you dont get more gamut, you get the ability to smooth with large dots. We use the same lc and lm in our 100" with the DX4 heads, because the DX4 heads use a larger droplet size. Again, if this is Max ink, this is EXACTLY the same ink...

Hi, Brandon and please tell your Dad I said hi. I am sorry for your frustration and disatisfaction. I believe that all the times I worked with you and your dad it was on color issues. So, I have not seen nor serviced the machine and am not up to speed on what all occurred and what was...

If it is not printing at all, it could be a fuse. If you got ink or cleaning down the connector to the head while changing dampers or moved the cable enough, you could have blown the fuse and possibly the head.
  20. Gray and orange turns to purple and pink...

This looks like nozzle dropout. Typically dampers, with not enough ink flow to the head fast enough. This usually clears up enough to do a nozzle check, but will drop out on longer prints. Did you replace dampers 6 months ago as well?
