  1. what I learned this morning by trial and error

Well it seems that worked once and not again as I have tried the lights out method yesterday and today and the same wandering of Mr Opus. More trial and error this morning on a job printed on matte material with no laminate. Should be a breeze one would think, but no....Mr Opus can't seem to...
  2. Hurry up! Hurry up and wait.

I think it is just a misconception by the real estate agents about wanting very few signs and thinking they can get them for what the company paid for 500 shells. Just need to teach them and they inderstand....none the less, they are a cheap bunch!!! lol
  3. could this be considered a fail?

Can't think that anyone would have thought to make sure this did not happen... but
  4. Men vs Women....humour

How men and women record things in their diaries...... ------Wife's Diary: Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but...
  5. what I learned this morning by trial and error

OH I forgot to mention this little variable, and it is a real head shaker. I sat there Friday and I tried running the cutter and after a few minutes I was frustrated and re booted the plotter. Tried again with the same results... I then rebooted the computer and the plotter (as sometimes this...
  6. what I learned this morning by trial and error

My Summa d-140 can be a very finicky piece of equipment. It cuts great and as a plotter is good. The opus reader has been a thorn in my side for over 6 years. I have tried many cures but there always seems to be a job 2 or 3 times a week that frustrates the &^%^ out of me with the reader...
  7. The MOTHER of all Mothers............................

Gino, there's not much you can do outside of giving the customer your opinion on what will look good. I have toiled with some customers, but sometimes they know better than me..or so they think.... I remember back when I was first in this business with my 4b cutter ( 1987), I was doing a sub...

  9. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

Would that not still have the issue of getting the vinyl to drop into such a deep groove?
  10. a wiper question

I run the test print every morning but it does not run that sequence of wiping the heads. I find that my yellow head is very frequently about running at about 65% and it seems that a head wiping always seems to solve the problem. I just cant figure out how to get the wiper to just wipe the...

At least in winter you can heat the back shop!!! I hate them both...Spring and fall, is perfect for me
  12. a wiper question

How do I command my jv3 130spII to just run the wiper sequence of cleaning the heads?
  13. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

I left the shop Friday night miserable over this stripe install and I was worried that I might have to remove and redo it again due to what seemed like an overabundance of air bubbles. This morning I come in after 2 days off and the truck looks 100% better. It seems it some how smoothed itself...

Here is a pic of the so so side.... I know it does not look too severe, but it is
  15. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

Normally I think this would work. There is a black stripe that sits about an inch away from the teal and it goes down a lot better as it does not hit the deep gorge of the wheel well as much. The trouble with the teal stripe ( 8" thick) is that it hits the gorge and runs along it for about 18"...
  16. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

To hell with it, put it down wet and now i wait, although I feel I will still have the issue when I try and get the stuff down into that deep gorge they call a wheel well. I don't need this on a Friday!!
  17. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

so you are saying I should laminate the stripes with 2 ml laminate? Never thought of that but I dont think it would be any easier to apply. maybe the wet method was the way to go...to late now
  18. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

I think if I did them wet it might take a day to dry out so I could attack the wells... I just screwed up side 2 need to recut stripe!!! not happy
  19. working with 2ml regular vinyl vs wrap media...uggg

Man I am so frustrated.... Doing a pickup truck for a regular customer and we have done these on about 8 or 9 vehicles over the last 3 or 4 years but now FORD has got lots of indentations running on the wheel wells and lower sections of the truck, which makes applying thick curved 2ml striping a...
