  1. Presidential debate...let's hear your thoughts

If the Donald were not so smart and paid his taxes everything would be hunky-dorry
  2. Presidential debate...let's hear your thoughts

You realize if you vote 3rd party... someone else gets their choice, right? Hard to believe that you believe the scale is balanced perfectly between the two? Seriously?
  3. What Roland would buy if you where opening a new shop.

I am sold on my RF-640 with a bulk ink system and GX500 cutter. I regularly print / lam / cut 20' logos. The printer is way cheaper without a onboard cutter and onboard cutters are not good for half that length. That said... Roland is going with a new printer head going forward (not Epson) but I...
  4. china trying to steal my domain name

I got a half dozen of these this morning- I love when you get multiple copys of spamware- don't even have to look at them. Gene
  5. Non adhesive trans print media

Do you know of a translucent media without adhesive, like PVC10 for instance? We do a lot of ATM people and they are complaining about the thickness when sticking to .020 PETG. Thanks Gene
  6. estimate programs.

Estimate works well for us- I think it depends on the shop and what type of work you do. I would think most will shake hands with Quickbooks- it is ubiquitous. We do estimates and Invoicing thru Estimate and the actual bookkeeping in QB. Gene
  7. What is a Vinyl Sticker and what is a Vinyl decal?

Hence... the decal is more expensive than a 'sticker'.
  8. Summa Tangential vs Drag

We have two older (T750) tangential Summas and I have always loved them. We had an Edge with the enVision cutter and a Roland GX cutter, which both do the job intended, but if you want a great cut- it is tangential all the way. Gene
  9. transparent black vinyl?

I would think that is the answer- Graphixshoppe does a *lot* of Edge printing
  10. How big does a job have to be to do an onsite estimate/evaluation?

We do not leave the building. This has worked for 20 years and I see no reason to change now. If they are not interested enough to come in with pictures and talk to us... I am also not interested. I have made enough 'hard' money- time now for the easy money.

  13. Suggestions for Alum extrusions for sign frames

I am thinking we could sell these if we had them to show to people. I am Looking at the stuff at SignComp we have a good miter saw for aluminum, so probably buying bulk lengths would be best? Thanks Gene
  14. Looking for a source to recycle print cartridges

The manager of the Staples warehouse takes armloads of our cartridges- before we switched to bulk.
  15. Glueing up acrylic?

ahhh- I have the needle bottle but my technique was lacking. Story of my life. Thanks Gene
  16. Glueing up acrylic?

I have been having a fine time cutting acrylic with my laser, but how do you do a nice job of gueing? I have bought every syringe and bottle that I can find and the Weld-on 3 always drips all over and makes thing nasty. Any suggestions? Thanks Gene
  17. Cleaning the VS, RF etc

I am mystified that no one talks about cleaning the machines with this new (now not so new) head setup. I take the wiper carriage out once a month and do a good cleaning and re-install- takes about 15-20 minutes and it gets nasty in a month. The recommended maintenance is pretty minimal I think...
  18. Roland TrueVIS VG-640

There was a post on this machine within the last couple weeks- and one user. Gene
