When you hear these unbelievably low quotes from supposed other sign shops I always ask for their number and tell them that I need it so that we can fire everyone here and outsource all of our production to those guys from now on. I've never got their number yet!

I would bet that whoever is quoting that low is lying saying that it is high performance vinyl when in actuality it is JUNK vinyl. I have done a LOT of moving truck removals/replacements/rebrands and never once have I seen quality vinyl used by anyone else.

That is a thermal laminator, NOT what you want for a sign company. Who do you buy your supplies from? They should have some brands they recommend and possibly some demo machines you can come see or try out.

My point was that I wouldn't worry about it if it was just the regular cast laminates, so I would have no worries at all about the envision series.

We still use our Gerbers everyday and I haven't seen anything like this recently. Possibly you changed a default/preference accidentally in your output manager?

I have used a lot of different laminators and I have to say that you can't go wrong with a GFP laminator. We have the GFP 563th with heat assist and run it all day long w/o issues, I think it can laminate around 61.5" wide max, but we've only had to do that once and we have three 63" printers here.
