  1. Large run on Decals

You're gonna need to give out more info; expected lifespan, surface or material required, printed, contour cut, laminated, etc??? Doesn't sound like an extremely large order to me.
  2. Reputable Ink Supplier?

When we bought ours, every vendor told me that ONLY the vendor who sold you the HP was able to sell you ink for it; any other vendor trying to sell ink to you for that printer would lose their HP sales contract if they sold you ink... So, we had to stick with the company that sold us ours. Have...
  3. How do you deal with clients that want their files

Give them their logo files free of charge. If they want anything else tell them that to transfer them off-site that they are subject to a storage fee or a retrieval and transfer fee. You are only storing their old files as a convenience to yourself; they have never requested or paid for this...
  4. Anyone try out Affinity Designer for Windows

I have it downloaded, but haven't installed it yet. Too many paying jobs currently to play around in potential software...
  5. Contract regarding PHYSICAL Printed Proofs?

On any large print order for a new client ($5-10k or more) we do physical color proofs before we begin production. We print off 2 copies of the proof and have them approve one, we keep the other and post it on the wall in the production area for reference. Then if anyone notices color issues...

  10. Wrap a tanker

We've never been scared of these with the torch (yeah being a new tanker doesn't hurt) even though some of them look like they might have already "tested them out" so to speak. The ones our guys here are scared of are the aircraft refueling trucks at the local airport...

Customer was in an accident, bringing it in for repair, the wrap was printed around 2 months ago.
  12. 3M Envision Print Wrap Film 480Cv3 is it really Controltac?

It is probably the new formulation, which is really "micro-encapsulated" bubbles of adhesive which are burst after pressure is applied. Not the adhesive you're probably used to...
  13. Best Printer for Full Print Wraps

Yes, FWIW, we ran 2 Mimakis here for 10+ years, then added an HP 360 6 months ago when we moved to our new building. I can't really say much good about it besides it is pretty fast and you can laminate immediately. As far as colors matching/varying... that's a whole different story. Tech...
  14. Wrap a tanker

we never have wrapped the top of one yet, but I would assume a walk-board is what you need.
  15. Best Printer for Full Print Wraps

I have to respectfully disagree, we are a wrap shop here and the HP latex we purchased has been nothing but a nightmare for us. Not interested in debating the issue we have here, but if anyone is interested in buying one with low miles for around half price, let me know!
  16. Post Driver

Try out a couple at your local tool rental store.
  17. Yeti Cup Wrap?

Just go buy the Walmart Ozark trail cups and put "YETI" on the wrap. They're pretty much the same thing for 1/4 price. ;)
