  3. Long jobs and no take-up

Check my setup in the second post on the thread that 2B posted. I had it without a motor for months- set a timer every 10 min or so and manually wind it up. The time will depend on the speed of your printer and how far it is off the floor. It is made from a closet rod and pvc plumbing fittings-...

  9. Why, why can't Roland add sequential cut ot VersaWorks?

I have a VP540- 5 years old and going strong and a GX500- which I also love- and cut a lot of 14-18 foot long logos after printing. It drives me crazy to see it tracking back and forth and back and forth instead of cutting a section and then moving to the next. Not only is it not efficient...

  15. Laminator disaster

Vinylman has it right. I believe that the roller(s) are crowned- so it it is tighter in the middle than the outsides that may be it. I have had 2 RS- and had to adj both of them. Once adjusted they are as good as anything... I believe. Gene
  16. Versaworks, SP540V, and GX-640 help needed.

Yes there is a setting in VW you need to change- I forget which one but check the preferences > multiple printer support> number of concurrent processes- mine sez 4. I can't find the email I got on the issue right now- call support if that is not it.
  17. Low Cost Take Up Reels?

I run it at 80% power (higher warps the vinyl sheets and make for hard laminating) and the vinyl goes directly onto a spindle over a table leading into the laminator and then to a GX500 cutter. I am into production- the core with the printed vinyl slips off the spindle by lifting it a couple...
  18. Low Cost Take Up Reels?

I have been using this homebrew for 3 years I think with nothing but a slip action to maintain the slack. I had plans to build either a elect eye or mechanical means to turn it off and on but it was not necessary and I moved on. It and the IR heater are triggered by a motion detector which...
