  1. Printable reflective heat transfer for polos?

If you don't have a local dealer they will sometimes sell directly but they will either recommend one or just sell it to you direct.
  2. Printable reflective heat transfer for polos?

Specialty materials has a printable reflective. I'm not sure if it meets any regulations though. They also have a product called Reflection Protection that is specifically for police, construction workers etc. although I don't know if it is printable.
  3. Suggestions Roland SP-300 error message 0110

What function are you attempting to run in service mode when it errors out? If you haven't already, make sure to run the encoder setup, encoder calibration, and environmental match. If something is up, it will fail to complete one of those functions. If it gets through all 3, it should fix the...
  4. Market Competition for Latex equipment

Mimaki took a stab a Latex and failed miserably. Hard to sell a $40k machine when HP has them for $10k. They have gone all in on UV instead and the UCJV300 is a beast. They are also dropping their prices on the solvent machines like crazy. Mutoh hasn't come out with a new product since I was a...
  5. Need Help Orajet 3641 Warping and Shrinking

3641 shrinks fast because it's cheap vinyl. The heat settings and passes etc. won't change how it behaves. It's just going to shrink no matter what unless you laminate with a cast laminate or something like that.
  6. expiration date on inks

Shelf life on UV inks is about a year and Mimaki will send dealers ink that have 6 months or more in general on stocking orders. Not sure what the difference is but my rep told me it's because it's harder to keep the pigments suspended in solution with UV inks for some reason.
  7. expiration date on inks

The Mimaki chips will give you 2 more months after it expires. After that you will need to buy some chips which Mimaki doesn't sell so you will need to find a 3rd party supplier. I have seen my customers in many situations where they used expired ink and it didn't seem to cause an issue. That...
  8. Mutoh VJ1624 Banding

Haha. These resurrected post always get me. I just assume they are new when they pop up on the front page!
  9. Mutoh VJ1624 Banding

Post a nozzle check. Looks like your cyan might be dropping out.
  10. banding or lost colour on mutoh vj 1624

Post a nozzle check. Also, off the bat it looks like your feed encoder might be dirty or damaged. I usually clean the encoder disc with 70% alcohol and a lint free rag. It's located behind the left cover from the front of the machine.
  11. We don’t laminate our signs. Thoughts?

That unlaminated aluminum sign is going to need to be replaced in 2-3 years. Throw some lam on it and you'll easily get 5.
  12. New Product Which Flatbed Printer to buy?

The Mimaki JFX200 is a great entry level flatbed. It's not as fast as the options being discussed but it is easy to use and costs much less. Might be worth looking into as an option.
  13. Setting up Illustrator

Bunch of oldies and their love of Corel! I only use it if my customer uses it but I was brought up on Illustrator. Adobe did a much better job getting into schools and making it the mainstream software for design. I don't use Corel enough to know the differences but the experienced guys seem to...
  14. Rant Any way to make versaworks Work faster on a good laptop?

The RIP process can't be parallelized so having multiple cores doesn't do much to speed things up. The RIP also won't use the GPU for the same reason. Clock speed will speed it up but it looks like you are already overclocking. You have plenty of memory. The only thing I can think of is to get a...
  15. Need Help Mutoh VJ1604 miss aligned nozzle and CMYK line marking during print

Take the long top cover off of the machine and run a print. It could be the trailing cables banging against the cover. Sounds weird but I have run into this problem many times with that model.
  16. Nozzles are clogging but tech said there's no need to replace cap top

The cap top should be changed once per year regardless if it's sealing or not. Usually when I change it I also flush the pump tubes to make sure they aren't clogged. Your dampers should also be changed once per year but a lot of people go years before changing them. It's worth a shot in your...
  17. Will Rasterlink 5 run JV3?

Yes. The Rasterlink 5 SG version runs both of those machines.
  18. Question How do you feel about this....................... ??

Your original order was above the minimum order so I think they should honor that. It's not your fault it's on back order. I personally don't charge an extra shipping charge for back ordered items but pretty much all of my suppliers do which I think is pretty cheesy. Is the company you are...
  19. VJ 1324 Nozzle issue

One nozzle usually doesn't affect the print too much. Most people will run a head that has multiple nozzles out for a long time due to the cost of a head. Sometimes you get lucky and the nozzle just has an air bubble in it and it works itself out over time. I wouldn't think about changing the...
  20. VJ 1324 Nozzle issue

Oh got it. Basically nozzles don't fire for 2 main reasons. 1. They are clogged which normally a new maintenance station would fix but not always. Sometimes a clog is too stuck to be pulled out. Manually flushing with cleaning solution and a syringe could blow the clog out but can also damage...
