Bought myself a Christmas present, Nov. 1935 Saturday Evening Post with Norman Rockwell signpainter cover.
  2. Quick Question about Hp Z2100 priter

I have z6100s and when we need a quick outdoor sign using them we apply a pressure sensitive laminate by hand. Pretty simple once you've done it a few times, wouldn't try it on anything too large though. If you use a decent vinyl and lam they could last up to a year or more. Merchant member...
  3. Large labels

    Thanks
  4. Large labels

I have a client who wants to get 18"x22" adhesive back "paper" labels. He brought a sample of what they want to match. The material looks like the same stuff that is used for small labels. They will be two color and done a few thousand at a time depending on price. Anyone have a supplier they've...
  5. Seaming foam board/gatorfoam for large interior sign

Flush on a wall doesn't give a lot of options, but also eliminates the issue of them staying flat. I'd consider applying the print on site

  8. What is the interior color of your office?

We have two shades of grey with some red accents and the window/door frames are black. In the front room we had dark grey carpet but took it out and put down a cherry wood laminate floor. In the vinyl room we have a grey tile floor with dark red borders. Front room has a fabric display wall and...

Yep, like RJPW,we use VHB to fasten the cleat to the back of the panel, adding a blockout layer of vinyl firts
  10. This year's Holiday Card

We still send out a Holiday card, but we seem to be part of a dying breed. We get a couple from suppliers and a few from longtime customers but that's about it. We send about 150, so it isn't cheap but I like acknowledging our regular and new customers. Each year I design something, used local...
  11. Xmas holiday

We try to do half day on the "eve" and take the holiday off, or next day like this year. But we have retail clients that get orders every week so we're never completely closed. If it's quiet we will do some shop upgrades.

  13. Advertising on your signs

Another good idea, that I have yet to implement, is a decal on the door jamb of vehicles.
  14. Advertising on your signs

Like Brad said, a sign bug was very common once. And now I see some large companies put it on everything. I sometimes put a small sticker on a sign, usually on the end of a cabinet or small in the bottom right corner, but not a lot. It does help if someone moves into a space and is wondering...

  16. Exterior Lighted SIgn Box

  17. Sending Large Files to a Printing Company.

I agree about asking the printer how they want to receive the file, most have some sort of upload capabilities and may requiring compressing the file.
  18. Rant What's up with the premium sections being dead?

I have a subscription to support the site, and I don't pay attention to the "Premium" area unless I am asking a question that I would prefer not to be "public" or it relates to pricing. I won't ask or give any info about costs in the public forums.
  19. Exterior Lighted SIgn Box

I think Mike means if the shop assembling it is UL listed anything they assemble would be covered. I agree with your question, if you buy a knockdown kit, can it still be UL certifies if the shop assembling it isn't?
  20. Gymnasium Sponsorship Signs

For economy I would do coro fastened with six masonry fasteners & fender washers. I would work about frame getting wrecked from having basketballs/soccer balls bounced off them.
