  1. More Fire Dept Font Fiascos

THANK YOU! Sure didn't know that one.
  2. More Fire Dept Font Fiascos

    Here's an odd one...
  3. Screws Scratching Heads?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! It seems to happen when the capping station is dirty, but it seems to get that way quickly! I will replace the screws with flush mount screws asap.
  4. Edge II Power Supply

We use "the plotter doctor" for our repairs on our Gerbers here, may want to give them a call. I would also assume that the power supply, however oddball it is, is NOT only used on that machine. If you can open it up and take it out, post up what info is on it here and/or take it to a local...
  5. Screws Scratching Heads?

I believe that the screws in the capping station on our Mimaki JV3 are scratching the print heads... The heads have a scratch on them and one side is bent in a little, but there have been no media related crashes. This seems to happen over the weekend while the printer is not being used. I would...
  6. Old Dodge truck Font

It looks a lot like the font I was looking for a while back... Some close matches in this thread: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?113662-You-wont-be-able-to-find-THIS-one!
  7. Fire Dept Font...

Thank you, I knew it was one of the regulars we use here, but I just couldn't think last night!
  8. Industrial Carpet Graphics? Looking for direction

MacTac HTC is what I have used for carpet graphics for tradeshows in the past, but they've never been left down for that long. I believe MacTac has an appropriate laminate for the material also. I would almost be inclined to make a paint mask/stencil in the tread patterns and spray the carpet...
  9. Fire Dept Font...

Any ideas? The bottoms of the letters look familiar, but I can't place it after this long of a day...
  10. Lamination machine

I am a big fan of the GFP laminators. The heat assist takes care of any silvering.
  11. CMYK Ribbons

We always use the regular Gerber ones here. Never wanted to mess around with potential problems; if it aint broke - don't fix it! And if you aint making money with your current tools(foils) - you're doing it wrong!
  12. Cell phone sales

I may be completely wrong in your case, but around here the customer wouldn't care about the "flow" of the design; they would want it as gawdy as possible and wouldn't even care (or know) if things were misspelled...
  13. Best material for interior block wall raps/prints?

Do you do print cuts with it or only prints "left in sheets"? We seem to do more print-cuts than solid-panel murals.
  14. Trailer Wrap.... looking for suggestions.

We use 3M 180 series solid color vinyls and 1080 series solid color vinyls for color change wraps on trailers all the time here. We also remove all of the screws as we go. I would say just wrap up to the "gutter" line and stop there, that should look good - or else you're gonna have to wrap a...
  15. Photoshop gradient help

The info you seek may be in this thread: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?116060-Printing-on-colored-wrap-film&highlight=gradient
  16. Outgassing, please help!

That is ours in the thread linked above. The box fan is on low speed as the solvents don't out-gas at a high rate of speed and it keeps the multiple rolls inside from fluttering around and touching each other.
  17. Box Truck Rear Roll Up Door

I always do vertical panels on box trucks per the installers' request unless specified otherwise by the customer.
  18. Outgassing, please help!

For backlits you have to lay down a bunch of ink to achieve the correct colors once it is lit. If you would like to shorten your drying time (I think it cuts ours in half) try building a drying chamber like in this thread...
  19. Best material for interior block wall raps/prints?

We have been doing a lot of interior murals, wall wraps, graphics, etc on painted concrete block walls. At first we tried using 3M 180c, but it popped back out of a lot of the seams. After that we have been using 3M 8624, but it is still popping back out of the seams. We have been laminating...
