A custom built profile is better than tweaking canned ones of course, If you
are using Roland spot color replacement, I think the rip does not use the
profile. In any case if it is tacky for over a few minutes, something is drastically
wrong.
That can be a function of your ink / profile. I use Triangle inx that seem to dry
faster than eco-sol and profile in house to control the ink limits while still getting
great color. Also have a small (8") fan blowing across the vinyl out of the printer
to aid drying.
Look at the capping station- there is a spongy thing retained by a wire in the
middle- if that sponge gets old and expands to touch the print head, I think it
will wick ink out of the head and fill the bottle. I read somewhere that there

It seems to me that the sqft pricing would also have to take into account
your costs plus what ever profit you expect- so I don't see how that could
be cheaper unless you are going to sell as a 'loss leader'.
If this is a ghost like or faint pattern after a black printed object. I would look
at static electric buildup- it is getting dry inside here (Mn) this time of year
and I need to get out the humidifiers.
My SP300 came with 2 sets of media clamps- one longer pair that could not
