    maybe make a copy of all the stroked outlines. Keep the original in front at it's current stroke width, encroaching the correct amount on your gradient fills behind it. Paste the copy of the outlines in back of the gradient fills & then increase the stroke width of the copy

    still not the way I'd fix your file because the magic wand might select all the white bg, but might screw up the edge of your letters... but for future reference, you can make that selection "transparent" with the delete key.

    crop is your friend. you shouldn't need the unpredictability of those other tool (though they could be helpful under different circumstances) just crop it and be done.

    you need to enable "bitmap tools" Flexi doesn't have many bitmap tools, but it has "crop"

    The edge could do an excellent job of that and Fred might offer you a price on it. The edge can be tricky for newer users to set up as nicely as a veteran edge guy can do, so Fred would certainly be one trusted vendor I'd consider. Another thing I'd consider if this was my job would be printing...
